This was not random, and not specifically against Americans. The victims wore no clothing that would indicate being from the US. Rather, I suspect the attacker was from a seperatist group with specific intentions of seeking any foreigner to kill so to embarrass the Chinese government. Truly sad, but I don't think it's the last.

I worship The Jam, yet never was as excited with Paul's solo stuff. I recently saw Bruce/Rick in From the Jam and I must say they look much better and continue to play with amazing intensity. But still, nice to see Paul out of the house. I'll go with playing 'Snap!' on the turntable.

Usaexpat is exactly correct: New Orleans is below sea level, and had a very old pump and levy system which both failed. They had their warnings, and did not take appropriate action. With these factors alone, you wouldn't see equal flooding in many other places in the world, at least not to magnitude of Katrina. Japan gets ten times the Typhoons that the US sees in Hurricanes, and overall seems structurally better prepared for such an event. Not that any plan is perfect...
