Like being kidnapped at gunpoint by Somali pirates isn`t bad enough, now this. Someone thinks Britain is going to fork over cash for this couple, and it is not happening.

A say take a dozen yachts, fill them with SAS and Seals, and let them float off the Somali coast. It will not help this Brit couple, but it might make the pirates second guess their current business plan. Then again, probably not...

Not like the Somali pirate situation is a new event. What were they thinking??? Can`t blame a momentary lapse of reason for this one.

I have heard the same as fds---it is seemingly a matter of all metro trains being so close to homes, that they just don`t run trains 24/7 so people can sleep. For me, it is a 15,000 yen ride home from downtown Tokyo if I miss the last train, so I agree with at least having a Night Bus. Midnight is to early to go home on a weekend...

Yes, yes, you are correct on this one USNin. I wasn`t quite reading the question correctly before I posted. Change my vote, toss in a Hell Yes.

75 years is fine, but I don`t agree with total abolishment. Advances in criminal investigative techniques are solving many older, serious crimes. Why let a murderer or sex offender get away with their actions...or let a rich child rapist hide in France for 30 years...

They probably all called in sick from work, and now their photos are pasted online. I agree, pathetic.

I watched his career with sadness while in Seattle, as it never amounted to much more than mediocre. I`ve heard he still has a home in Fukuoka, so I hope he returns there to end his career on a high note. Time to dust off that old Hawks jersey!

The Beach Boys were inspired by a car to write Little Deuce Coup, so I imagine a Corolla...ok, maybe not. Is there a chance for this song to get recalled too?

Each New Years the Sci Fi channel has a 24 hour TZ marathon...worth watching every minute! Many of the stories still freak me out years later. I agree with John...a great story overshadows any billion dollar special effect. Rod Serling was a genius, years ahead of the pack.

The Olympics for fighter jets...this guy is dillusional. Sure, we all know the IOC is swayed by gifts, this has gone on for years, yet this time around Rio was the best choice on many levels. Very unsportsmanlike, Mr. Ishihara. Apparently you still don`t understand the basis of the Games.

Chicago is the absolute worst choice of them all. As fun as it was to have Tokyo in the running, my hunch is Madrid.

Carey used to be hilareous, but now he goes so far over the top, it becomes embarasing to watch. I hope he contains himself and gives this wonderful story some respect. It might actually be good, then.

The photos are brutal to look at, but remember the car hit the guard rail, not vice versa. The guard rail is not the flaw...sadly it`s driver error. A tragic story that I hope makes everyone more aware when we are all behind the wheel.

As a musician also, I think you missed my point. Without giving a lengthy thesus, I merely attempted to single in on comparative performers who, being from different generations, changed the world in some manner. And still sell tons of records. No, I would not say Zimmerman is any less important than Elvis, or the Beatles, yet I would stop short of including Britney`s name with the likes of Tchaikovsky or Robert Johnson...

At this point The Beatles are a corporation, and still a band in the copyright sense, thus they will still sell records, even after all members have passed. I dare say next to Elvis, they are among the greatest, world changing, awe inspiring bands of all time. There are now 2.25 million reasons proving it.

Poor man...really? His own people gave him the nickname The Butcher, so I imagine there was some validity to the claim. He earned his name, and deserved his death.

Yes, pretty much. Both Spokane and Sunnyside are in rural Eastern Washington, about 200 miles apart, where hunting is very common. But I think it will come down to a confrontation with police. And in the end the hospital that allowed this will have to answer a ton of questions...
