Like many others stated, addictions of all kinds are unhealthy. In addition to the classic problem means, like alcohol, tobacco, drugs, sex, food, etc, we now have more modern types, based on the advancements of technology. Moderation is key with anything. There have been people glued to the TV for hours a day since it was first available on the market. The same is for the internet and the same is for gaming. The last two at least offer interaction with others and thus stimulate the brain more so than mundane TV watching. People can get addicted to anything and it becomes unhealthy for their lives, mind and possibly their bodies. Humans, by nature, are creatures of habit and often times indulge in these habits more than they should. Maintaining self control is key.

It's not up to the world leaders to make a difference - They need to make policy to enforce a change, yes, but the hard work is up to everyone - every single person on earth and the corporations that we work for.

She's a complete idiot thinking that this is okay because the little girl "will not remember". Of course she will - that is a traumatizing experience and what happens at this age will be part of how she develops for the rest of her life.
This woman is an exceptional case and obviously needs the harshest of punishments.
But, yes it is really messed up.

Perfect role model for any university - students need to follow her simple steps to a rich life:
1) Become a famous singer 2) then a famous actress 3) Start doing drugs and neglect your son & family 4) Get caught & apologize 5) Suspended sentence 6) Work off the media buzz that the trial produced and gain profit from it

What a disgrace, such acts of mindless consumerism should not be lauded, they should be condemned.
Allow me to disagree. Eating competitions are not mindless consumerism. Hate it when people use those terms. Sure these eating contests are silly, but they're fun as well. And apart from that, does it really matter all that much? How is this worthy of the disrespect you're saying. Is this any different from any other type of sports contest? If people watch it, and are entertained by it, and no one is really harmed, how is it bad? Might as well say baseball is nothing but mindless consumerism as well.
Whilst I do not enjoy competitive eating, I agree with Molenir. All competitions could be classed as mindless consumerism. Take any type of motor sport and think about the resources they are using to run these events. F1 for instance uses uncountable quantities of fuel and tires for just one match. Same with Nascar or think about the 24 hour Le Mans race! Other team sports like Baseball, Football, Soccer? My goodness, look at the land those stadiums are taking up. You could build enough housing for 30,000 homeless people per stadium! So yeah, in the name of entertainment resources are used. Plain and simple. >

We're forgetting that she was hiding out when her husband was caught. Perhaps she spent a few nights there, obviously not caring about the mess in her house and more so focused on the mess of her life. If clothing was sprawled all over the floor, she could have been searching for items to take on her escape.
The smell is explainable. In Japan's hot and humid summers, even having a closed trash bin will eventually start smelling rancid. It's like finding someone in an apartment after they have been dead for 6 weeks and saying "Jeez you smell... didn't think of showering?"
Then again, she could just have been a filthy coke smoking addict.

In Northern Iraq(Kurdistan) there is a woman that is 132 years old and still alive. In Northern Iraq there are more people above 120 years old so i don't understand why they say "world's oldest" when he was only 113.
So unfair.
World's oldest man... you said the 132 year old is a woman...

This story also tells a tale of population decline: 8 kids -> 3 kids -> 2 kids -> .11 kids
Granted, some of his great-grand children could be too young to have kids, but it is doubtful.
