As bad as Obama is he towers above the party hacks that make it to prime minister in most of Europe's pseudo-states.

"The Presidential Memorial Commission is a NON-PARTISAN, non-government organization dedicated to paying tribute to the president."

Imagine that, they want to spare their Lefty allies from backlash.

But seriously, what is a thinking person supposed to infer when there appear to be no Democrats that oppose a project whose official website features The Great Seal of the United States redesigned - defiled - so it features an eagle wielding toilet plungers, beneath the inscription "E Pluribus Anus" ?

    Stay classy,Liberals.

And remember to demand that no one question your patriotism.

"The deal outlined Tuesday, however, appears to set an outer limit, requiring U.S. forces to fully withdraw five years after the Iraqis take the lead on security nationwide."

Hate to break it to some here but if you'd bother to read the above and engage brain before posting you'd realize Dubya will be long out of office by the time any withdrawal takes place; posts about Bush propping up defense contractors must then be consigned to the same cyber ash heap where went all the hyperventilating and paranoid fantasies of these last 7 years, the always-imminent coup by "BushCo".

That the Iraqi gov't can propose this phased withdrawal strikes me as proof that the US has achieved victory. Add Iraq to the long, long list of countries that the US has freed from tyranny of one sort or another. And it looks like someone may have stolen Obama's thunder.

    Bush and McCain vindicated.

Egg on the faces of Obama, Reid, Pelosi and a purple finger in the eye of each and every anti-liberation loser out there.

"Others think the plan reeks. The chairman of the San Francisco Republican Party has promised to fight the measure if it does make the ballot."

I'm sure the Dems will step up.

Obama's conspicuously meager record of actual achievement in "public service" reviewed less than favorably - and by the NY TImes of all sources.

The glee this project elicits from some of the more infantile among the America-obsessed out there got me wondering if we weren't getting the full pic here at JT.

Having met a few self-loathing SF "progressives" over the years I figured there also had to be an overtly anti-American element prominent in their project.

So when I visited the official SF website sure enough I find that like Barack Obama they have appropriated and redesigned our national seal, only this time defacing it with the slogan "E Pluribus Anus".

And the familiar American eagle is seen wielding two toilet plungers.

Again, there is only one party in America that would pull something like this.

    It's spelled enunciate, Georgie.

    "Liberal" America -

Any American voter not on your side but who refers to your 08 candidate by his full name is guilty of "hate speech" , but naming a sewage plant after a man half the electorate saw fit to elect to two terms is "tribute."

As much as I dislike Carter I could never imagine naming a sewage plant after a man millions of decent Americans voted for.

"I'm glad that Obama understands economics and will be in office this next term."

This is like saying 'I understand economics myself and approve of my candidate's economic plan.'

So tell us, A.D.D., just what is Obama's plan?

"Songbird and McCain, just google it. Attacks come mostly from the far right, the normal sources for the winger brigade here on JT that is still looking for WMD in Iraq."

WMDs are gone. The last batch of Saddam's "non-existent" yellowcake uranium has been secured and shipped out of Iraq. Done in secret.Imagine that, just like they do things in wartime. It arrived last week at a port in Canada.

Glad that you lot got to help in your own way.

How clever, how snarky - and truly infantile - in that uniquely SF "liberal" kind of way.

Little children do sometimes express curiosity and fascination with what happens to their 'creations' after mommy flushes it away.I guess the kind that never grew out of that stage run the show in SF.

For a real laugh try and imagine the trouser-soiling hysteria among the same set nationwide if a similar referendum from their political opposites in even the smallest town were designed to 'commemorate' anyone other than a white Christian American male politician who held conservative political views.

"Basically, you can't build a case on a quote whose provenance cannot be traced."

Brighter and brighter charades. Very impressed by the contortions, by the way your eager exoneration of a regime that is outright hostile to democratic Israel and the US (and is actively abetting Lebanon's destruction) actually takes the form of arguing for the widest possible interpretation of repeated allusions to a thermonuclear final solution for Israel, and from a puppet president who is by all accounts a fanatical devotee to a militant brand of apocalyptic Mohammedism.

The rest of us simpletons read about and see 'Death to Israel', 'Death to America' painted on the missiles the mad mullahs have paraded around Teheran and all too often jump to conclusions.

"has Bush been reading a dictionary?? bugger me!"

Yeah, man. Garsh. Bush, he gots them Chinese pretty well figgered out. It almost like his ol pappy was Chief of the U. S. Liaison Office in the People's Republic of China or sumptin.

Of course, if you are a "progressive" and you are offended by Bush's appearance at Games neither his administration nor America awarded China you can still strike a blow by rushing out and buying another "Free Tibet" bumper sticker for your life partner's Prius.

Yabits, you have some vaild points but if the south (never been) is as monolithic and as racist as you paint it how to explain the election in post-Katrina Louisiana of a Republican governor? - and one who is not white.

Is this yet another Republican 'southern strategy' in the making?
