Come now, where is the international left's faith in the United Nations? Why would Zimbabwe's neighbors want US intervention? We are the most despised country in the world, remember?

NY Times is saying Obama is in the pocket of Big Ethanol -
Obama Camp Closely Linked With Ethanol By LARRY ROHTER Published: June 23, 2008 The ethanol industry has provided some top advisers to Senator Barack Obama, who has delivered ringing endorsements of ethanol as an alternative fuel.

Obama described his choice of Trinity Church in one of his books. I heard the story narrated by the author. To me there seemed little to indicate a spiritual need was being satisfied. He said he had been told by many in the community that he needed to be affiliated with a church to really win trust. Hence my characterization of his actions as basically political in nature. Trinity Church's Black Liberation theology is avowedly political. It stands to reason their interpretation of Christianity's revealed text is no less so. Obama - who we are supposed to believe is so wise in judgment we can overlook his complete lack of presidential caliber accomplishments - soaked it up quite contentedly for 20 years.

Who broke Zimbabwe? Who needs to fix it? Not America. And would they trust a nominally African-American man made president of a predominantly 'white' nation? Should they? Who could blame them for their skepticism? The once-powerful European nations that colonized and plundered Africa and what became Zimbabwe - Britain, France, Germany, Belgium and Italy - all have sizeable minority populations, but in not one of these countries have those of African descent achieved anywhere near what minorities in the US have. Zimbabwe probably can't see America any more clearly than can all the dimwit Europeans who insist US intervention in Iraq was all about stealing Hussein's oil cuz he tried to assassinate Bush's daddy. I reckon the EU and or the UN would object to and even sabotage any substantive US intervention in Zimbabwe, since it would make Europe and the UN look that much more pathetic.

'Obama' and 'fair elections' in the same sentence, a headline no less! Is this a joke, a new JT feature of some kind?
Obviously Obama counts on few people, MSM journalists least of all, looking into his involvement with the disgraced ACORN group (implicated in vote fraud in 12 states, convicted in Washington) or testimony from one of his first opponents in the Chicago area to the effect that he employed some very unethical methods and had his rival disqualified, leaving him to be the sole candidate. In moving to the state and then national senate later he defeated two opponents whose campaigns imploded when divorce records were made public, in one case against wishes of both former husband and wife.

Barack Hussein Obama was born a Muslim. What's the big deal? It is a basic tenet of Barack Obama Sr.'s adopted faith of Islam:if your father is a Muslim you are a Muslim. It beggars belief that people who constantly criticize American foreign policy post 9-11 and necessity or validity of the War on Terror can be so ignorant about Islam. There is nothing to worry about in this case. Obama jr. did not leave the faith but was abandoned as a child. I don't think he can be classified as an apostate, unless he is invited by a prominent Muslim to rejoin his brothers and he refuses. Dobson and his crowd should at least be happy that though Obama still has many Muslim relatives in Africa (he met and described them in his books as Muslims) he himself chose Christianity, albeit a pretty freaky strain.

Obama was born a Muslim. Even the NY Times has published this. It's pretty obvious he converted to Christianity (no record though) when it became politically useful to do so. As long as he does not seek to accomodate in any way the encroachment of Sharia into American courts his religious outlook is not that big of a deal. Anyone who thinks McCain is not Christian obviously doesn't know the facts about his stay in the infamous Hanoi Hilton.

“Special Groups are afraid of progress and afraid of empowering the people.”
We have them in America, too. And like militant Shias, Al Qaeda in Iraq and deadbeat Sunnis they too opposed the surge.

Obama's web page is full of whacked-out anti-Israel, anti-Semitic garbage and 9-11 conspiracies. It should give pause to any American professing to belong to the party of Truman and JFK.

Senator Obama has already done enough damage in Africa by lending support to his cousin, a militant Muslim whose party is challenging secular rule in Kenya. I'd hate to think what he could do as president. He thinks America has 57 states - I doubt he could find Zimbabwe on a map. His handlers need to limit his verbal outbursts.Let him talk about solar power and what not. His proneness to gaffes is already damaging his chances. He's making Bush look like a scholar.

"A little wagging the dog" ! Juan Cole is so right on. Guy has established himself as the heir to Edward Said. We are truly lucky. He amazed me when he explained that the events of Sept 11 2001 were "in response to the Israeli attack on the Jenin refugee camp, which left 4,000 persons homeless." The so-called Jenin "massacre" took place in April of 2002. Cole later deleted his wildly subjective musings, but the cached original can still be viewed at http://www.geocities.com/martinkramerorg/Documents/ColeLondon.htm

We have an election coming and one party needs their formidable allies in the media to ensure that all news is bad. And this time around if you don't buy what they are peddling you are a racist.

What's Obama's plan? Is it to apologize for our very existence? Is that why he redesigned the presidential seal a couple weeks back? Not even elected and he already has his flightsuit moment.
