@Wurthington~ Sorry meant to add that something does have to be done about the work/life balance…
Perhaps the father wasn't working. Perhaps he can never see the children under Japan's ancient sole…

Sarkozy is in Israel for the same reason US counterinsurgency experts visit:he needs their unparalleled expertise in urban warfare, gained over decades of fighting the more violent portions of the surrounding Arab population that seeks to destroy Israel and Western civilization. The US put this info to work with excellent effect in places like Fallujah. Difference is, Sarkozy needs it at home, in places like Paris.

“Only God who appointed me will remove me—not the MDC, not the British.”
After the way the Brits were utterly humiliated by the Iranian Navy last year it's clear Mugabe feels emboldened.

It's like a cartoon I saw featuring a donkey as judge in a hearing at which oil company execs are forced to endure the hysterical beast pounding its hooves and screaming, "Well, maybe we'll repeal this Law of Supply and Demand!"

Int'l Herald Tribune headline - French Jewish groups say attack on Paris teenager was motivated by anti-Semitism
'...But President Nicolas Sarkozy, leaving for a visit to Israel later Sunday, issued a statement "renewing total determination to fighting all forms of racism and anti-Semitism." '
"...France has western Europe's largest population of both Jews and Muslims. The nation faced a surge in anti-Semitic crime starting in 2000 after tensions between Israelis and Palestinians flared up in the Middle East." http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/06/22/news/France-Teenager-Attacked.php

"Or at least, the volume of the US trumpet is 60 as high as that of its Japanese counterpart."
Americans are much more generous than Japanese - when it comes to charity. Why do you doubt Ms Shinjo? Are you some kind of Japan-basher?

Who broke Zimbabwe? Who needs to fix it?
The flailing stab at reasoned debate (?) which goes 'no-oil-so-America-doesn't-care' is beyond lame, and reflects comically on anyone who makes it.

It's a welcome gesture on Sarkozy's part but it will do little to stop the rampant and violent anti-Semitism in France.

Was she mentally handicapped, like the female bombers AQ Iraq used last year? Was she a drug addict? Their next line of attack is comprised of children, from what I have been reading. Search Al Qaeda Iraq plus children to see what I mean. After Iraqi children AL Qaeda will have to hope that the international Left will step up and carry on the fight...

I was amazed, heartened even, to read that the usually permissive NY legal system sentenced her to five hours of cleaning public toilets as part of her community service.

So much talk about Bush's supposed 'buddies' in Big Oil. But never any actual names. Who are they? The 14 largest oil producers are nationalized concerns, operating in countries like Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Venezuela, China, etc. None of them strike me as friendly to America. Are these the oil men described here as "Bush's buddies" ??? Do tell...

This just in - most Americans don't care what the rest of the world thinks of us. What's more, though we account for less than 5 percent of the world's population, we supposedly consume 25 percent of available resources. I rather doubt that little bit of trivia, but I like to throw it out as proof positive for the first sentence I wrote.

Which party crafts legislation readers would characterize as promoting strong independent families able to raise strong independent children?
I have to go with the Republicans by and large.
Which party's values does Hollywood reflect? Is it any mystery you almost never see strong, positive male role models? How odd, how unbelievable a character like Atticus Finch would appear to these Gloucester girls.
