Sometimes you'd think it was more like 70%. Nothing lowers my opinion of a lass more than seeing one of these awful bags.

I think this is the lass doing the Nintendo adverts currently running on the Yamanote sen. She's got a nice smile and actually looks better in this JT shot.

Highlight of the TV Schedule this week has been whether some lass can gain 10kg or not.
Watching this pitiable excuse for entertainment has lowered my estimation of Japanese TV to sub dog turd levels.

These barbarians are extremely misguided in targeting British and Americans, and somewhat ungrateful considering the sacrifices and expense that have been put towards allowing people in these countries democracy, freedom and equality under law.
They should take a step back and consider the significance of their actions in the wider scheme of things.

Why doesn't she become a coach, or sports journalist?
If you judge a career based on peers, then surely being a talent is a step down on the career ladder for her - you need no skills, abilty, or talent. You just need to be a buffoon in front of 125m people.

Have been holding off on buying a new PC to avoid Vista. XP works fine and I'm perfectly happy with the range of functions.
Mac's remain dark and dangerous to me. I wouldn't even consider them.

I dread the day when Prince Charles ascends to the throne. Given the thankful longevity of the Windsors, with Charles we're in for a cringeworthy forty or so years.

This is hardly surprising. While I like Japan for not going to the excesses of the UK (for instance the Health and Safety Executive have all but banned anything that might pose the slightest risk), it's pretty clear that there's sometimes insufficient thought given to building safety, or safety in general. "Pile it high, sell it cheap" stores like Don Quixote are potential death traps. It's not just stores like that, I've seen buckets of hot coals left on the street from yakiniku restaurants. A child or some gormless zombie on a mama chari could easily fall onto them. Even if the regulations are in place it seems that oversight is very lax, and the impression is that it's pretty easy to get away with blocking up fire escapes, having out of date extinguishers etc.

Doubt it. I learnt nothing about China from the Olympics.
Course, you never know till you try, but I personally wouldn't invest any money in it. Surely if she speaks Chinese that would be better, and is also a larger market. It's a shame Chinese are still poor.

Yep, I'll give my seat unconditionally to a pregnant or elderly lady; if I'm stood up and and there's an empty seat in front of me and a lady next to me, then I'll offer it to her first. If i'm at the stairs and a lady is struggling with a suitcase or pushchair I always like to help out as well.
If anything, it's nice to do these things if not to distinguish yourself from the uncouth extremely poorly mannered rabble of Japanese men, whom I believe by and large to have shocking manners.

Amongst my favourites are Kat-Tun and AKB48, who've produced music of unsurpassed quality recently.
Generally anything on Johnny's is a hallmark of quality for Japanese music.

I'm not sure about that much apathy. I watched TV over the weekend and there was quite a lively debate over whether there should be a rise in the consumption tax. It was very interesting to see people so confidently raising their objections to the idea.
Politics is pretty off-putting in most countries and I guess is something of a "minority sport" - most Japanese people I know have no less disdain for politicians than people I know back home. Somehow their electoral system - or party system - i'm not sure which (but probably a mixture of both) makes it easier for the appearance of general apathy to occur.
