The "artist" should really have learnt to paint better before seeking his "15 minutes of fame".

    God help them.

Whenever I turn it on it's just some mediocre "celebrities" talking about food.

One of the things I hate about going to Europe on business is that the shops close at silly hours and if you can't get any toothpaste you're pretty much buggered and left with using little flints of wood like some wild savage.

I'm not surprised the killjoy environmentalists, many of whom have some misguided notion of returning the world to the early middle ages, would like forgetful travelling businessmen to have to use flints of wood to clean their teeth.

Japan is a beacon to the civilised world through it's conbeni stores which open around the clock. We should fight tooth and nail for them to remain so.

    They must be insane.

I really want to travel round the States a lot more, they're making it increasingly difficult to enjoy a trip there. As soon as you get to the airport you're treated with suspicion. I can imagine for muslim travellers that it's twice as bad. This is making an already crappy irritating system worse.

I though Shinshintou was the new diet machine.

I thought it was "Slendershaper", or was that last year? Or was it Billy Blanks last year? Or Chinese tea?

    I just can't remember.

    rather than the Japanese "talent".

But surely there is no other way to describe SMAP, or most of the other talented people who regularly appear on tv here.

Could somebody please explain me why the Chinese blue men thought they would have any kind of rights over the police of a sovereign country? What would make them think that they above the law of another country?

Maybe cause of what they realised they could get away with in London.

Upon seeing me on my bicycle, the snits coming the wrong way have actually moved closer to the side of the road, forcing me to move further into the traffic lane, endangering my safety.

You have this totally wrong. What I do is I get as close to the curb as possible and then raise my body up on the bars. At the same time I give them the biggest death stare imaginable. They are then forced to move into the traffic for me rather than vice-versa.

They're the one's doing the risky activity and they should take up the risk rather than you.

Those that aren't totally gormless anticipate this and move to the pavement; others have no sense and just come to a stop. Whereby you also come to a stop and politely tell them off.

Japan has got to have some of the rudest people on the planet. In general they have no manners but near train stations or on trains, they exercise their rudeness with magnificence.

As with walking the streets of Japan, the rule of thumb appears to be that the presence of someone else should never under any circumstances be acknowledged. You yourself is the most important thing and no accommodation should be made for others. To specify with a little more detail:
    - to walk at people until they move; - to get on the train while other people are getting off; - to take the one vacant seat even though there's a nine month pregnant lady stood next to you; - to pretend to be asleep while a 90 year old lady stands up; - to breath your foul smelling breath over another; - to get all panicky on the train when you're told that it'll be 30 seconds late, due to the JR staff having to pick some body-parts off the tracks - due either to suicide or some maniac pushing someone under an oncoming train.
