How did he outshine Tiger? Certainly not on the leader board.

Didn't Ryo do better than the cheater on the first day? And then finish one shot worse than him after the second day?

I've got nothing against Tiger really, but he'll never be the vice-chairman of the Japan Golf Tour Organization, like one Ryo Ishikawa, 18.

Ishikawa rocks...something something...mentioned in the same sentence as Woods

Well that's not gonna happen anytime this year is it? With one of them out due to his morally unacceptable shenanigans. Naughty naughty.

I have been in Japan 18 years and am a professional translator so my Japanese will probably suffice. And Japanese TV is horrible.

It appears the authority has spoken, people. Case closed.

I'm sure he'll take out the Fashion Masters while he's there as well. Go you little clotheshorse!

    Ishikawa, 18

    Wow.

    Ranked 30th in the world

My goodness. And coming up, much to the dismay of the jealous haters.

played alongside Tiger Woods at the British Open in July

Anyone remember when he outshone Tiger? Ishikawa is a dedicated go-getter, not like that morally reprehensible vow breaker.

received awards in a record nine JGTO different categories.

This must include his appointment to vice-chairman - an "empty-yet-somehow-at-the-same-time-important" title, according to one little green man.

Further developments to be announced at a time convenient to me.

I've walked past this place, and that's about as close as I'll ever get to going in.

If I want to stay at a Western hotel I'll do it back home where mummy makes breakfast for me and does my washing.

Thank god I wasn't alive 50 years ago and that I don't own a TV now.

Are both of these lies? You sure have a chip on your shoulder, gramps.

Oh my god Tsuyoshi just fluffed it and sent them crashing.

Ha ha just kidding. They put a plastic guard in some places to minimize the damage.

    What antics.

SMAP's domino show on Fuji TV from 7pm looks like it could be alright, especially the domino part, but I accept zero responsibility. It goes for four hours though, so I'm sure everyone can find something to hate and complain about.

I think some of them are awesome, and some of them are claptrap. Like the rest of the year really.

Anyway it's a nice change-up from the usual. Back to normal tomorrow I suppose.

I just saw that pro-golfer Rika something or other talking with her dad about her upcoming marriage to lounge lizard Junichi Ishida. Rika's dad hates his guts, and so do I!

I wanna punch you in the face Junichi!

Yoshinoya gyudon beef is no fattier than the famous marbled Japanese wagyu beef that sells for ridiculously high prices.

They should be at the same price, shouldn't they Sarge? Bloody outrage it is.

why do all these Japanese people living in or visiting the USA eat it without hesitation or remorse?

There's no hesitation because American staff are pushy and may start a fight if the customer does not order promptly. The remorse comes when they get back to Japan and their stomach explodes with BSE madness.

USA beef is not BSE-stained. You should check the facts before posting.

Yes, it is. Tee hee! And you should think twice before jumping in blindly with your number one rhetoric.

    What's superior about it?

Ha ha. Please keep your BSE-stained lard away. Thank you.

    seeing opportunity in mass misery

Wow. Shukan Gendai. What a piece of crap publication.

So what should Yoshinoya do, asks Shukan Gendai. Lower its prices? Or leave them, hoping customers will accept that the quality is worth it? It’s a dilemma the Japanese of 20 years ago could scarcely have imagined

Uggh. What about the Japanese of 10 years ago, during the deflationary spiral in 2001? When Yoshinoya lowered their bowls from 400 to 280 yen? Hmm? Or how about 30 years ago, in 1980? When they lowered prices and went into the red big time?

Yoshinoya’s, though its sales have risen for 28 months straight

Dear god. Yoshinoya's beef bowl operations - which is what this article is supposed to be about - have reported decreased sales in the nine months up to November.

P.S. Matsuya and Sukiya use superior yet one-third cheaper Aussie beef, which partly explains the discount party going on. Go team.

They should declare every day their last day if this many people are gonna go. Or is this another of those sakura deals? 700 yen per hour in line plus free grub.

I didn't go into Wendy's much myself. Their square patties were hard to comprehend, not to mention dangerous

That just leaves Burger King for me.

You're lucky. Macca's Quarter Pounder with Cheese is the closest I'm getting to Hungry Jack's.

As for Sukiya, their 280 yen bowl is going down a treat.

A cosplayer sings for the cameras

Thank god that pink plastic thing isn't hooked up. There's enough pain at hand with SuBo getting ready to release her menace for NHK.

On a side note, I think her "healthy looking" friend to the right is being given the sign that none of this is acceptable and it's time to go back to their rooms for the rest of the month. And next month.

This one has a vertical line and is made of fabric so thick you can't see through it.

It's all very good and well for the model to stand there, but I'd like to see a bit of breaststroke if possible.
