Scrap schmrap! TEPCO had better get those reactors back up and running ASAP, I want those escalators at all the train stations and all the dang lights back on! LOL!
Hopefully with the new help from France and the U.S. this will not get much worse. We can expect the reduced power consumption for a long time.

Gadhafi thinks otherwise. He's toast, but the toaster oven is still on low. Howz about Libyan neighbors Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria sending in some ground forces to help put down this madman? Apparently their air forces are useless...

Is it possible for Japan to convert their remaining reactors to use thorium in place of uranium and plutonium over the next decade or so? Because otherwise Japan may have to wean itself off nuclear power completely.
