In foreign firms, CEOs has a lot bigger power than Japanese firms. In Japanese firms Their decision power is limited. They are more like a Japanese prime minister whose position stands on the balance of pwer of groups.

Macho Ishihara is a known nationalist. He is popular among people who are not happy with weak knee Japanese diplomacy. I think it is true the occupation policy of America after the war intended to make Japan weak. A democratic nation without a strong military is miserable.

I endorse nuclear reactors in Japan. Nothing is 100 safe in this world and nobody died in the Fukushima accident. It was a tsunami not an earthquake that caused the accident. Remember how hard it was for workers who had to work in sweltering summer without appropriate uses of airconditioners last year. My neighbor came back from work very exhaused because of heat and used her airconditioners in full to sleep. I don't want it happens again that trains run intermittently, streets were dark, escalators halted etc. It is a matter of balance economy and safety. Japanese industries cannot survive without enough powers.

Japanese officers have become very much cautious and hesitant to take actions in such cases and others since the privacy law was enforced. Gaijinfo's suggestion is a very good but I wonder the Japanese officers will do as far as that. Japanese family system - strong family ties disappeared after the western individualism spread here. Good thing and bad thing.

50% of the budget goes to social welfare - pension and health care. What a difference compared with America where birth, aging, sickeness and death are on their own responsibilities. The current government is spoiling the weak.

Many Japanese think it is necessary but some worry that the bad economy get worse. Particularly small retailers and businesses may suffer a lot. If the consumption tax is raised, customers don't buy from them and go to giant supermarkets and retailers which try not raise prices as much by sharing the burdens with their subsidiary companies and factories.

I support the death panalty and it should be done sooner. There are many murderers who have been released after claiming they are innocent for decades. It's not that they are proved innocent but it is only resulting from it became difficult to prove them guilty. As time passes, people's memories become uncertain and investigation difficult. Death penalty was instituted to abolish "ada uchi" personal revenges which existed in the past and it was admired.

We think we will not become a target of terrorists ... We are not hated by any... owing to our peace constitution. Article 9 says - Aspiring sincerely to an international peace based on justice and order, the Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes. In order to accomplish the aim of the preceding paragraph, land, sea, and air forces, as well as other war potential, will never be maintained. The right of belligerency of the state will not be recognized.

Okinawa is a pain in the neck but the islands may be important in view of these disputes. If we lose Okinawa, we will lose a ground to claim the territories there.

Nagoya mayor Kawamura and Osaka mayor Hashimoto are popular since they are dictatorial and represent Japanese voices of hardliners. They think democracy and pacifism went too far and weakened Japan. I agree with them. Some think they can change Japan which has become unable to decide anything. We should change the peace constitution and rearm and restore defense industries so that we can sell weapons and aircrafts to the world which is now monopolized by America.

I heard before that the death penalty was instituted so that there would not be a personal revenge. Revenge was an admirable thing in the Japan as it was seen in the 47 Ronin episode.

I wonder the translation "reclining Buddha" is correct or not. The image is known as Buddha death which falls on Feb. 15 and memorial services are held at many places.
