    The fuel tax will add Y25 per litre, the oil companies are sneakily adding another Y5 per litre at the same time. Also, prices didn't fall by Y25 per litre when the tax was removed. Someone is making a lot of extra Yen here.

    Still "considering" the idea are they. That means they won't do anything and the idea will be forgotten once the taxes are reinstated.

    With the LDP, bribes come before sensible use of tax revenue.

    China should have stuck to parading the "torch of peace" around countries with despotic governments similar to its own: North Korea, Burma, Zimbabwe etc. The whole charade would then have passed off without any meddlesome demonstrations and could be portrayed as a success in the state-controlled Chinese media.
