A 13% decrease is a big deal, it's about Y100000. Similar cuts were imposed on summer bonuses, so that's a Y200000 pay cut for the year. Think of the reduction in consumer spending that entails. The Yen may have increased by 10%, but buying imports won't help domestic manufacturers.
