justice4plstine: How can the Jews be invaders in their own country? Where do you think Jesus was from? Was he an "invader" from Europe and the USA? The Jewish people have just as much claim to be the indigenous inhabitants of Palestine as the "armless, helpless Palestinians" who fire rockets at Israel towns and openly call for genocide.

Admission to Keio University may require intensive study for some, but for the rich it's just a matter of buying your way in.

Greece's problems are not beyond its control: the Greeks simply lack the discipline to sort themselves out. I expect they will take the easy option and default on their debts, as I'm sure not many Greeks are foolish enough to buy their own government's debt. So in the end the German banks that hold Greek debt will have to be bailed out by the German government.

To me, the value of an electronic file, and a file which is encrypted and has usage restrictions applied on it in particular, is close to zero. These "content creators" will have a hard job persuading me otherwise.

The woman's story doesn't sound very plausible. How often do you see "some dogs" in a park without their owners? I've never seen such a thing: lots of stray cats, but no stray dogs. If there really were any dogs, their owners should be able to verify the woman's claims.

If the JFA condemn the use of water cannons, why did the Japanese ship use their cannons first? Why do they even have water cannons if the JFA is against their use?

I see the Otaru hot springs (no foreigners allowed) are not listed as an attraction. And the canal is only a few hundred yards long, hardly impressive when we have hundreds of miles of the things back home. They do have some nice old stone/brick buildings there though.

Why should China see this as a reason to enhance their own military? Are they afraid of a Taiwanese attack on China? The unelected Chinese dictatorship are nothing but bullies and murderers.

So, according to Bomber Blair, any country that "could develop weapons of mass destruction" or "could form links to terror groups and attack the West" is a legitimate target for bombing and invasion.

This covers pretty much any country in the world, i.e. Bomber Blair believes that he can attack and invade any country he likes with impunity. The man should be in jail, not swanning around the world enriching himself.

Japanese car makers keep quiet about defects in cars sold in Japan, hence the lack of consumer concern. No doubt the true picture will be revealed during a future "regrettable" scandal.

It's a good idea to stop deposit-taking banks from gambling on stocks and derivatives. The casino banks can be allowed to go bust with no cost to the taxpayer.

"Their money isn't really their money. Its the peoples money", that's quite right: bankers don't create or manufacture anything, all they do is redistribute money away from their customers to themselves. They sell "products" and take a chunk in fees. They churn shares held in unit trusts to gain commission fees for themselves. They short the "products" that they sell to their customers.

I think banking should be separated into retail banks, limited to providing current accounts, insured savings accounts and mortgages to individuals, and "casino" banks which can do whatever they like, but which will never be bailed out by the taxpayer when their gambles go wrong. This way there is no need for any extra taxes and consumers would be free to play it safe, or lose their money to banker's bonuses.

Allah = God = Yahweh = Nothing at all. Why all the anger about which word should be used to describe something that does not exist? I think the word "Nothing" should be used instead. "Nothing be praised", "In Nothing we trust" etc.

I can't see much changing myself. Hatoyama promised a lot, but is delivering nothing. Instead, taxes will go up to fund the elderly and the enormous deficit.

There are still plenty of unemployed people and the female workforce is vastly underutilised, so the argument that there is a labour shortage is false. To make good use of the available labour requires enforcement of the labour laws and an end to companies treating their staff like slaves or pieces of machinery.

The threat of this strike has been looming for months and was one reason I booked ANA instead of BA for our Christmas trip home. It looks like BA is going the same way as JAL, sinking under an unaffordable pension burden.

The government will take 50% of the bonus pool and the recipients will pay another 50% in income taxes, so the total tax rate is 75%.

This kind of erratic, grudge-based approach to running the economy will cause serious damage in the long term. Hopefully they will all be thrown out next year.

I think the English Defence League has been set up by the government as a honey trap for people who have thoughts and opinions which differ from the government line.

You can be sure that everyone on that march will now have their details on a government database. At some point in the future they will be arrested to demonstrate the folly of free thinking and freedom of expression in the police state that the UK has become.
