The government will take 50% of the bonus pool and the recipients will pay another 50% in income taxes, so the total tax rate is 75%.
This kind of erratic, grudge-based approach to running the economy will cause serious damage in the long term. Hopefully they will all be thrown out next year.

I think the English Defence League has been set up by the government as a honey trap for people who have thoughts and opinions which differ from the government line.
You can be sure that everyone on that march will now have their details on a government database. At some point in the future they will be arrested to demonstrate the folly of free thinking and freedom of expression in the police state that the UK has become.

Many of Murdoch's outlets do not provide "high-quality, reliable news and information": they provide titillation, bias and promotions of other Murdoch products masquerading as "news".
Murdoch aims to control as much of the media as possible, so that he can propagate his political views and lobby for law changes that benefit him. This is why he is so opposed to the BBC: he cannot control it, buy it or silence it.
It's also worth noting that Murdoch's businesses pay very little tax as the profits always seem to find their way offshore, whilst losses are booked onshore to minimise tax liabilities.

It wasn't enforced before and won't be now. If you worked at a check in counter and had the choice of arguing the toss with every other passenger all day, every day, or just letting them go with whatever they are carrying, what would you do?

“It’s a sad day for freedom of religion,” said Mohammed Shafiq, the chief executive of the Ramadhan Foundation, a British youth organization. “A constitutional amendment that’s targeted towards one religious community is discriminatory and abhorrent.”
I tend to agree with Mr Shafiq. I wonder what he would say about various articles of the Saudi Arabian constitution which forcibly impose Islam on Saudi citizens? I would say that the Saudi Arabian constitution is also "discriminatory and abhorrent". I wonder if Mr Shafiq, or any of the other Muslim organisations moaning about the Swiss, would agree?

I see. So our Muslim friends will stop criticising and mocking Judaism will they? Maybe they are having doubts about the drivel that passes doctrine in their faith?
If a person holds an irrational belief, it should not make him immune to mockery. You can believe whatever nonsense you like, but don't tell me what I can and cannot say.
The main tenet of my new religion is to mock all other religions at every opportunity. A ban on blasphemy would restrict my right to practice my religion.

It always surprises me that students here tend to live in 6 mat rooms by themselves, instead of getting together in a group and renting a bigger flat. Sitting by themselves in a tiny room every evening can't be good for mental health. I much prefer living with other people.

The BBC is quite biased towards the left and I'm sure that the Question Time programme will be a complete fiasco. The audience will be packed with left wing loudmouths who will try to shout down the BNP representative at every opportunity.
The chairman and other panel members will continually interrupt the BNP representative throughout the programme and I doubt that he will be allowed to complete more than a couple of sentences.
Once the farce is over the BBC will have engineered an excuse to prevent future appearances on its programmes by BNP members.
I do not support the BNP, but I do support free speech, something that no longer exists in the UK thanks to the corrupt, thieving labour government.

Madrid is unlikely to win as it would be directly after London. Plus Madrid is full of thieves these days, it's awful.
I think the games should stay in Greece. I can't imagine why cities line up to run up billions of dollars of debts building stadia that will only be used for a couple of weeks, whilst the IOC takes all the profits. Why not make the IOC pay for everything and see if they can make a profit?

It's not a question of immigrants being "dumped" on Greece. Under the terms of the Schengen agreement Greece is responsible for all illegal immigrants who first enter the EU through Greece. Greece should either withdraw from the Schengen agreement or make more of an effort to control their borders, although that's not easy for a country consisting of so many islands.

If 40% of French dairy farmers really do go bankrupt in three months the situation will resolve itself. Less supply = higher prices, so the remaining 60% of dairy farmers will be able to make a living. Problem solved, at no further cost to the taxpayer.

So, our Islamic friends planned to murder thousands of people "to expose supposed Western oppression of Muslims".
I'm quite annoyed by the blatant oppression of non-Muslims in the Middle East, but I'm not about to go around killing people because of it.
I will wait and see how many leading figures in the Muslim community will publicly welcome these guilty verdicts. My prediction is that none of them will.
