Given the number of hungry people in the world, why publicise someone who makes a living from stuffing her face? She should be in a freak show.

Is this the guy in the suit and tie who was hacking at the flowers with his umbrella? Perhaps local residents should be invited to trash Miyamoto's flat, allowing them to let off steam?

You can buy tickets on board the Heathrow Express: you don't need to have one before you get on. As for having no cash, he could have paid with a credit card.
Blair's wife was also caught without a ticket one time. Pair of fare-dodging shysters.

Mugabe refuses to recognise the results of the election. It's time for other governments to refuse to recognise him as the president of Zimbabwe, starting with the spineless Mbeki.

If my boss insisted that starting work on time was so important, then I would point out that it must be equally important to finish work on time, i.e. no unpaid overtime should be worked. An inflexible boss is a bad boss.

France allows both pro and anti Chinese demonstrations.
The unelected Chinese government tolerates anti-French protests in China, but murders its own citizens if they demonstrate for free elections in China.
If the Chinese living in Paris want to protest about media bias, how about protesting against Chinese censorship of anything to do with the Tiananmen Square massacre? The hypocrisy of these people is breathtaking.

If the run-off isn't held by Saturday, the despot Mugabe will hold power illegally. I wonder what it will take for Mbeki to denounce him?

Do we really need constant "growth"? If the population is declining then the growth in GDP per head will be greater than that in countries such as the UK, where the majority of growth is due to immigration.
The government needs growth in order to fund its debts and wasteful spending practices: without growth they will be forced to become more efficient or go bankrupt. In this sense, an absence of growth is a good thing.
Once most people can afford housing, food, cars and a selection of unnecessary gadgets, isn't that enough? Further growth will only enable the purchase of more unnecessary and frivolous goods, at the expense of the environment.

The despot Mugabe refuses to give up power. Meanwhile, neighbouring countries remain silent. Perhaps they see Mugabe as a kind of perverse role model?

How are Tibetans Chinese? They speak a different language, are ethnically different, and have a different religion.
The unelected, fascist government in Beijing considers them to be Chinese citizens, and imposes it's views using lethal force, but that doesn't make Tibetans Chinese, any more than the Japanese invading China made the Chinese people Japanese.

Every weekend we get a big Yamada denki advertisement with the newspaper and nearly every weekend they also have a full page ad inside the paper as well. Why not stick to one ad?
And if they turned off the annoying music in their stores that would also cut down on CO2 emissions.
And how about not building stores on the edge of town which encourage car use?
