The really awesome fact is that this is officially still Koizumis term. The last election for Lower House was on September 11 2005 after the Postal Privatization row. Since then, the LDP hasn't won a single election.
Of everything Komura said here, what somehow irks me most is that he seems to make a difference between himself as Foreign Minsiter and "the government".
On the other hand, maybe it's just a mistake in the translation.
