"No mention of the thousands of American dead and wounded. Must not matter to you..."

You could not be more wrong. And there were tens of thousands of American dead and wounded in Korea, with the Kim Dynasty still causing misery to this day. Doesn't mean the war should not have been fought.

"Way more Iraqis have ended up dead than if Saddam had been left in power. And the ones that are still alive are living in an absolute hell hole, with a now non-existent middle class."

Who knows, there had been attempts on Saddam's life before the liberation, maybe he and his winsome sons would have been knocked off eventually and enough instability to have a civil war, after all the Shiites and the Sunnis have been at each others throats for centuries...

I tried McD's Sakuranbo Shake today. A little strange. Nowhere near as good as their previous American Cherry Shake a couple of years ago.

Hamill:“ Could you imagine if for some reason I said ‘I don’t think I want to do it?"

I can so imagine that! Abrams could get someone else to play an old Luke Skywalker, or better yet, get rid of that irritating character! Skywalker is almost as irritating as C3PO.

Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher are of course welcome back as Han Solo and Princess Leia, as is that walking carpet Chewie, ha ha!

"Jaw-dropping that would stand here today claiming the invasion of Iraq has been any sort of a success"

Lessee... a dictator who ruled Iraq with an iron fist for 24 years deposed, then later executed by his countrymen... his winsome sons taken out... free elections held, putting into power the majority political group... neighboring countries no longer threatened by the Iraqi government... I guess none of this counts because some wacko Islamists are still causing misery...

"I’ve also heard stories from people who were turned away, or asked to leave, sometimes during the act of bathing itself. Some of these people were blonde or redheaded North American women (probably not the easiest candidate for confusing with a yakuza). So the old “tattoo = yakuza” justification doesn’t really stand up here."

Hey, those women could be girlfriends or wives of yakuza! Get 'em out of there! lol

Invent tractor beams that can shift the Earth's axis to lower the temperature in Tokyo by several degrees!

But then that would cause other regions to be too cold... dang!

"The libertarian-minded Paul, who favors a smaller U.S. footprint in the world, said that some of his Republican colleagues would do more harm in international affairs than would leading Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton."

Hillary Clinton would do harm in international affairs?

“There’s a group of folks in our party who would have troops in six countries right now, maybe more,” Paul said."

Um, the U.S. has had troops in way more than six countries for a long time, Paul. Get with the program already.

"I think the Russians and the Chinese have great potential to help make the world a better place,” he said. “I don’t say that naively that they’re going to, but they have the potential to.”

Cripes, the Russians have given the world vodka and a bunch of other stuff according to Pavel Chekov, and the Chinese have given, OK, sold us a bunch of cheap stuff that has made it possible for many retailers to survive. Haven't they made the world a better place?

Oh good grief, Madverts, I suppose you'll still blame any suffering taking place in the region even 20 years from now on the "illegal" invasion.

"This cat is better off pushing up daffodils. World better place without him."

Amazing how, if not for the "illegal" U.S.-led invasion, this cat would most likely still be causing untold suffering along with good ol' Saddam and / or his sons.

"He ( Rep. Sander Levin, the senior Democrat of House Ways Means Committee) pointed to the various brands of Japanese-made cars filling the streets of Washington compared to a lack of GM, Chrysler and Ford vehicles in Tokyo."

First of all, like toshiko said, most of those "Japanese-made" cars are manufactured in the U.S., second, they sell well because they are well-designed and well-made, third, GM, Chrysler and Ford vehicles aren't selling well in Tokyo mainly because, heck, why buy them when we can buy a Toyota or a Nissan or a Honda or a Subaru or a...
