    BlueTiger,

What is the one reason and one reason alone that Powell is supporting Obama? because he's a "transformational figure"? because he's a "generational change"?

Or maybe it's because Obama has

...displayed a steadiness, an intellectual curiosity, a depth of knowledge, and an approach to looking at problems like this,…

    Nippon5,

I don't know about you, but I haven't a clue as to what either Obama or McCain will do about Iran. Regardless of what they want to do, they will be constrained by what they can do.

For example, I'm not sure that Obama can sit immediately sit down…

    Nippon5,

Well, it's not exactly like they know what they will or won't do, either.

    coulrophobic,

I give up. How much did Delaware tax-payers pay and how and when did they pay it?

    hereandthere,

There would be a difference, wouldn't there, between Palin spending $150K of her own money to show people who she is and the Republican Party spending $150K to show people who it wants her to be?

There would also be a difference between John McCain (or his wife Cindy)…

    SuperLib,

The requirements you suggest seem reasonable--disclosure and inspections. They seem reasonable because that's what we want. But I think we should also look at what we are prepared to give up. And I think the answer to that is: very little.

I don't think many people want any country…

Sarge, no presidential candidate has closed the deal since George H. W. Bush. Obama has come closer than anyone since then.

There's no question that Obama could lose and that McCain could win. Things change. However, the trend of polls seems to me to favor Obama. Here's a visual:

    Sarge,

Your Scenario 2 is the part that Bush has been acting out ever since the Axis of Evil. Why would the Iranians be more afraid of McCain except for his temperamental instability?

Talking is good. Bombing is bad. Winston Churchill--better to jaw-jaw than war-war. Of course you have to…

    RomeoRamen,

About the money that Obama is spending--wouldn't that be money that his supporters gave him for the express purpose of continuing to sell himself to voters? If I were a liberal I'd be upset if he spent it for any other purpose or if he lost the election because…

    Helter Skelter,

    Good call.

    Bad read.

Iran doesn't have any known nuclear weapons program. We do. If they have none at all and continue to have none, we would be following if we abandoned. If Iran does have a program, the mere fact that we abandoned further development might not…
