We escaped to London where it is only 14C. The strong yen makes us feel like cool millionaires in this expensive city. Back on 25th and I hope it cools down by then.

Another reference to Japan! If he thought he liked the Japanese system so much why not move here? Easy enough for a blond, blue eyed guy to attract a wife and stay here. Mind you after scratching the surface of the system in Japan he might have preferred Norway after all.

We had to cancel a reconstruction trip today offering free schools, orphanages and medical clinics because there were no hotel rooms available even 90 kms from the disaster area. What is more important? Do good-ers doing no good or us giving hope? I just do not get this country.

We have had a Sharp WA-35E for 9 years. Left it on during our 5 week UK holiday during the hottest summer without the aircon on and it is as good as new. Sharp are the best fridges.

Bah! Christmas day in Japan is the most miserable experience ever. Even Jeddah is more fun!
It is all commercial hype and when the day comes everybody has to work.
Off to Guam as usual for some fun in the sun for us and back on new years day when Japan is finally closed for a few days and I can actually enjoy driving around a deserted Tokyo while everybody is at their home town. Best time of the year, for me , at least!

Yeah, I did the same with my kids today. Sports days at Japanese schools are soul numbingly boring. Wake at 6am, make all the lunch boxes, sit on a blue plastic sheet on a dusty gravel playground for 7 hours. There is a bonus if one of the kids come 1st, 2nd or 3rd but other than that it is hell.
