Yes, the media bring the issuue up each year. But it could have been worse. Just imagine - and you are going to need a strong imagination - that bush had been right and the war/mission in Iraq had been accomplished. Then america and good parts of the rest of the world would have been bombarded for years to come with clips of bush landing on the carrier, emerging from the plane in his dress up suit, helmet under his arm and grinning like a little boy with his first bycicle. And then followed by him standing under the banner trying to look like a leader declaring mission accomplished and smiling at his own glory and magnificence as the crew applauded and whooped like trained seals. ANd let there be no doubt about it - that staged landing and banner was initially going to be a major part of bush's reelection advertising.
Maybe I'm wrong. Perhaps bush may have said even though we were succesful the banner was refering to the sailors mission so we cant use it.

Bit I like is how a woman can chase a man down and apprehend him. Same as women who drag gropers on the train off by the tie and march them to the station office. Try doing that in London or NY

Yes rjd jr, but the other side off it is if someone sent you a letter at your place of work and marked it 'private and personal' would you not be a bit pissed if your boss opened, read and checked it? In my view it boils down to the same thing. The boss buys your labour - they do not buy your life. Because it is not such a big step to checking the email you recieve at home to ensure that you are not doing anything detrimental to the company.

Just hanging out waiting for the USA report on human rights around the world.
Do you have free trade unions? No? That is bad. Do you have free press? Well don't worry about that to much. Do you have torture? Cause we want to show you this great freedom tool. You just plug it in here, push this part in here (lube sometimes helps) turn this switch on i n 20 second bursts and they tell you everything you want to know.

Sad to see some of the usual suspect posters still saying "torture is bad ...but"
Is it wrong or is it not? Is your case that america is so morally superior that it is ok for them to commite torture? Does not america claim to be better than the "bad" people? And think about it - america in 2008 is giving the green light from the highest offices to torture people. To inflict incruiating pain on people, to simulate death experiences. This is what primitive people did.
John McCain, not my favorite person, had it right when speaking out against torture said: It's not about them - it is about us and who we are. Bush nodded in agreement and then signed a law with special addenmunts which said he could ignore it.
Think about it americans - don't bother me with your stories off how bad the others are - you have an admin which openly endorses the use of phyisical torture on other humans. This, from the same country that (eventually) abolished slave labour. So if america is the leading light etc, is it OK for all other countries to torture? And if not, why not?
The founding Fathers were setting forth a vision for a great country. Did they miss out a bit where they said torture was OK? Because torture was wrong then, it was wrong in the Middle Ages and it is wrong now. But america in 2008 want's to legalise it. A country in moral decline. And confirmation of that decline are posters here clinging to reasons why it is oK. So what about child rape? Surely in some circumstances that is OK - like if your buddies were in an IED attack?

Time is not the measure. When you have those really hot times when you get home rip each others clothes off, no one is timing matters. That can be short hot and very enjoyable sex. Then there are the times when you both have been drinking wine and you slip into a whole different mode. Early morning can be a slow sleepy experience or a quickie before work. Time is not the measure - it is the enjoyment the partners derive fromew it.

Is there anyone at JT that can fix my small problem? I just recently left Japan and closed down the email address I had been using for 9 years. But I can't reactivate my old user name and password with a new email address. Get the message that either the name and password are already taken (I know, they were mine) or trying the alternative way of old user name and Pword am told that my (new) email address is is not regisyered with JT.
Anyway to fix this? Not the end of the world but it would be good to continue posting with original name.

Zaphood - in the extremely unlikely event that the "terrorists", or anyone else for that matter, manage to set off a 'dirty bomb'the damage will be minimal. Such a bomb - which as far as I know has never been used anywhere - would spread very low level radiation over a relativly small area. No one will be vaporised and buildings will not fall down (unless charges have been placed in them). It would cause panic way out of scale to the problem which no doubt your (almost) military goverment would exploit to the maximum.
Anyway, nice to see that seven years on your fear is only a dirty bomb. What, no longer worried about the smoking gun being a mushroom cloud?
