It really has to start at home with a counselor or teacher from the school talking to the parents about what their child is doing. This would also be a good time to observe the child's home situation. My friend in school was a bully - a tall girl with a loud mouth. I didn't know it at the time but at home she was being abused by her step-father and uncle. Her step-father was also a quiet alcoholic. In my former job I worked with an adult bully full of the smart comments and practical jokes. Turned out at home her husband was making fun of her weight 24/7. They're acting out in some way and it needs to stop, for their benefit and everyone else's. If they continue, what's the rest of their life going to be like? Do you think they'll have true happiness or inner peace? Of course, maybe not everyone values these things. But I'm very much a counselor-type person. This is what I think would be a good starting place.

I don't mind being hugged at all. What pushes my buttons is a hard hand shake. I have to stop myself from slapping him (it's always a man).

Good point, Tri. The translation may have been off; also, sometimes artists don't use the right words or explain themselves well.

Their food sux. Unless I'm starving. Then it's good, especially McD's french fries. The other 98% of the time I prefer my own cooking. Thank god for cookbooks.

And this offends me as a woman: "There aren't many things that make women happy."
You can't say that about all women. It's certainly true of some. And you can't say that all men secretly have rape fantasies or prefer to have sex with little girls. People shouldn't be making blanket statements like that, but they do.
This is a hard one to call because no matter how hard people try to stop the bad games, the more people are going to want them; and this is a blanket statement of sorts, but it's one of the curious things about human beings - like the desire to slow down and look at a gory car accident. (And not everyone feels the need to do that, either.)

She should've chosen to wear a short black jacket and let the boots be the focus of her ensemble, the first part being finding boots that fit her. All in all, her look isn't working for her and neither is the dog's. If I'd hired her to be at this ceremony, I'd withhold that check.

So, are the Japanese politicians like the U.S. politicians - we only hear from them/see them when elections roll around again?

Points are taken away if you hit the floor. This would be a fun contest to spectate. I wouldn't be in it because I'd be the first one to hit the floor. And, yes - Bud does taste ahem-ing near water. Blech.

In comedy, everyone takes a shot. I don't mind if it's funny and we're making fun of ourselves, but this movie sounds like such a dog that I'll be skipping it even when it comes out on cable. I'd be surprised if it was anything but sophomoric.

Pros: (1) death blow to the dealers big and small, (2) ppl with medical problems would benefit from legal marijuana
Con: smacks of Brave New World by Aldous Huxley where the government anesthetizes the masses to the point where everyone works, takes their drug, spends their money and keeps smiling

This stuff never bothered me when I was a kid. I was always the first one in and the last one out. Now ... I blame the media for giving me germ phobia. I wouldn't be able to swim somewhere like this or do a public bath. I'd need to have counseling before and after.

I've never heard her sing and have never seen her videos, but I do remember hearing something like she started in the business when she was around 9 or 10 years old and has been working ever since. Sometimes in ridiculous costumes designed by her mother. Kudos to her. She never gave up. Now she's rich and famous. If you like her, fine. If you don't like her, fine. I don't mind seeing her face everywhere because she is very beautiful, imo.

Not something I would ever do (have a child), but it is quite awe-inspiring when you think about what's really happening here: she has a human being inside of her. She's just a regular woman, and yet she's created another person. That is something to celebrate and mark, and yes - she's going to need those sturdy legs. She'll be carrying a baby, diaper bag and purse soon.

No, I think womanforwomen is on topic. She's using instances of problematic males to ask how, considering the behaviors and problems of and caused by Japanese males, the Japanese can possibly be superior to anyone. She's on topic; she's talking about men behaving badly, which seems to be irritating you, dr jones. That's all.

My niece said to her mother this past year, "I wish I were Japanese." We're Native Americans. My younger sister said, "Why?" My niece said, "'Cause they're smarter than Americans." Yeah, I've thought so myself. I've always thought of Japanese as being more intelligent, civilized and refined than Americans. I don't know if this is true 100% of the time, but it's always been my impression of Japan and the Japanese.
