There's only one thing wrong with this pic. Her toenail polish should be hot pink, matching her lingerie ensemble. But seriously, I would vote for her if they'd let me vote. And maybe they will this year. This contestant accurately represents our universe - sexy in a tacky way without regard for subtlety. We're in the wal-mart age and I don't know when or if we'll come out of it. Our Miss Universe should represent this throwaway plastic time in our history.

Is there a problem with overuse of painkillers in Japan/Tokyo? Where I used to live a person out of their mind on painkillers was driving and killed a highway construction worker. One thing about painkillers - you can't smell them on someone's breath like marijuana or alcohol. The police would have to do a little further investigation to see if the person they're talking to is confused, etc., or even a little sleepy, which would be weird for someone riding a bike. That would be a tip-off. I don't think the police were out of line here. Thank you to Mrs. Myles for admitting she did something wrong. Not everyone does. Maybe this is even the police officers' intent - being careful when you're riding a bike is serious business. Now the Myles's know it is serious business next time they're on the road in traffic.

Whoa! I think we have a winner, ladies and gentlemen. When they have pole dancing as part of the contest I'll start watching again. If this outfit is any kind of gauge, they just might (hope they do).

My friend Dee had an explanation for it: when a woman wants to have children, she'll go on the hunt. By the time she reaches 30 or so, if she hasn't found The One, she'll "settle," meaning she'll pick a guy who wants to have children even if she doesn't really like him a whole lot. Children are the most important thing at this point. If a woman doesn't want to have children, she's free of having to go on the hunt. But most women do want to have children. That's the essence of it.

That's interesting, griff. I never would've suspected such a thing.

Spanish is right. Everyone should know how to take care of themselves first and be self-sufficient. But it's not just women. Some men go from being under their mother's care to being under their wife's care and can't be independent, either. They'll go from one bad marriage to another because they need someone to take care of them. They can't do it themselves. Avoid this at all costs. You'll be happier, believe me.

I like these two words together - husband and hunting. Somehow a picture comes to mind of a Japanese woman approaching 30, dressed in camouflage gear, lying in the bushes somewhere with a tranquilizer gun, whispering to the camera girl, "There he is now ... on the other side of that car ... fine looking male, about 25 years old ... good job, good family ... let's wait until he's out in the clearing .... shhhhh ... don't spook him." No, this is not how I caught my husband. My brother used to watch a lot of sports TV back in the day, swear on a stack of holy bibles.

So, women being up in arms over slovenly male behavior for centuries isn't a story? Well, I suppose that's not really "news," it's been going on for so long.

I really can't understand this. Maybe because I haven't yet met a person who could explain this attraction to me. What's attractive about a child? I don't get how someone can look at a 13-year-old, or 2-year-old, and say, "Wow, she's hot!" How does a person get to that point? And how does a mother get to the point where they're selling their own child to a group of old men? Or young men? Or anyone? These children know very well what's going on. Even a 5-year-old would. Sometimes their intelligence level for their age is surprising. I'd like to talk to these girls in 10 to 20 years to see where they are in life. I'm sure wherever it is, it'll be tragic. This is a terrible fetish.

Actually, MN had Jesse Ventura as Governor. At least Franken's funny. Coleman's a member of the old boys club and will do whatever the voices tell him. And he's not funny.

Thing is, a day or so after the election Coleman said that Franken should do what's right for the state of MN, concede that Coleman won and not file a lawsuit. And then what does Coleman do? File lawsuits. For the past 7 months. I'm not worried about whether the liberal progressives will ultimately come out victorious. The younger generation will fill our ranks and the old guard will die off, along with the old beliefs. Me, I'm not a liberal progressive. I'm a leftist. I'll do whatever I need to do to win, short of violence. Viva la Franken!

A while back someone wrote a piece called Pagan Hollywood. I just skimmed through it, but I remember that he said Elizabeth Taylor was our Venus, so this was a while back. Essentially he was saying that the people like the celebs who fit into the niches that used to be occupied by pagan gods. Well, some people do, anyway. But in reading and watching the news, it seems like some of the celebs really are deified. For instance, what's happening to Robert Pattinson right now. He's just an actor (and some say not even that), but his fans treat him like a demi-god. I don't know anyone personally who does this or I'd pick their brain to find out why. To a psychologist and sociologist, this is an interesting phenomena.

What a shock. Farrah Fawcett, you could kind of see that coming. But MJ. Totally from left field. He was such a star, and then a falling star, falling to earth, burning and crashing. He gave up his childhood to become a legend, singing ABC and Never Can Say Goodbye. Who can forget such a sweet little voice singing "Ben"? By the time he put out Off The Wall, he was teh hotness, all grown up. He was irresistible then, and sooooo talented, his voice and his moves. Thriller took him to the state of being a demi-god, and that kind of fame would've been hard for anyone to take. Whether he was a child molester or not, I don't know. He definitely was a talented, tortured person on a strange journey through life. RIP, Michael. The pain that was life is all over for you now.

You better learn English, 'cos it will become useful: if the Eurasian, philippine and pacific ocean plates suddenly shift you will end up in the western gaijin's land!!!<

That would be funny. We'd see you guys coming, standing on shore with our binoculars, "Yup. Here they come now ... yeah, that's them." We'd have to put up a giant air bag for a soft landing.

We do, jess. Clever of him to move on and find a better market. Diet and exercise is a big biz here in the states, and yet every day you see so many people who are obese. Go figure.

So, he's doing good business there? Somehow I never pictured the Japanese as a flabby bunch, but I could be wrong ...? I hope they each had a big piece of cake and loved it.

This is a good photo because it provokes an immediate response. Not a good situation, but a good photo.

Am I the first to complain that there's no accompanying pic as an example of said nudity? Actually, I really don't need one. One of my friends said, "Why is it that the ppl who should not be nude are the ones that ARE nude?" You can count me out. Because of the germs, however - not because of the nudity.
