I have to side with Michael Moore and say, "No." I don't want to be buying more wedding gifts than I already do. (j/k)

The first time I read this story through quickly. Now I see something else I'd be taking issue with - why does Mr. Obese get two seats and I only get one? If I had two seats I could sleep very nicely. It's not my problem that he's fat, nor should it be the airline's. I'm traveling and I've got my own things to deal with, one of which shouldn't be having half of someone's thigh on top of my own, and I won't put up with it. But that's all I'm going to say about that. I'm not paying attention to trolls today.

I have to disagree, jean. Doctors know what is normal weight for a man or a woman. How someone got to be 60 lbs. or more over normal weight shouldn't be a concern of the airline at all. The people who are obviously not going to fit in a normal seat should be required to buy two seats. It's also going to take extra fuel to get a heavier person from point A to point B, no matter if they got to be heavier by overeating or by medical condition.

If a person weighs twice what's "normal," which was probably what the airline calculated in the beginning, then he should pay for 2 tickets. It's taking twice the amount of gas to get him from point A to point B. Purely physics. And no, for children and the 90-pounders, I'm sure the airline's not going to reduce the price of their ticket based on the same ration used for fat travelers. They're not even going to go there.

35 concerts in 11 cities? Shouldn't that be 11 concerts in 35 cities? No ... that's not right, either. I've heard Miley Cyrus does quite a few costume changes in her "show," but I think it's only 4 or 5. Lazy Americans.

This is a groaner. One of my friends dresses up her male pitbull like a girl dog (pink tutu, scarf, heart-shaped sunglasses). I ignore her. I just can't see the sense. What did dogs do for clothing for thousands of years before we came along and slapped a frilly dress or pair of jeans on em?

I don't miss vinyl at all. Remember scratches? Even if you worked to keep your records scratch-free, there was always a chance someone would jar the record player and bingo - now you've got a scratch and a skip in the record. And then you're throwing that one out and buying another.

Maybe she is wearing a "t-shirt." When u get up close u can see that it is indeed a t-shirt? That's what I'm thinking. It's interesting to me that t-shirts are now fashion and being designed when it wasn't very long ago it was extremely gauche to be wearing one in public. Marlon Brando in The Wild One was the 1st person to wear a t-shirt as clothing and that was radical. Before Brandon, a t-shirt was strictly underwear.

I'm ashamed of myself for laughing. I really am. But if you dress up as a fruit favored by the Swedish populace, you'll have someone gnawing on your leg while you're dancing around in the video. You just can't win, I'm telling you.

Some days I feel like signing up for it myself. But seriously, if it were my husband and he only had 6 mos. to live - I wouldn't trust the opinion of just one dr. I'd get a few diagnoses first. My friend's mother had inoperable cancer and 6 mos. to live and she lived 4 years. It really made a difference to her children and grandchildren to have her around longer. But if their pain is so great and their quality of life is crap, then it would be so hard, but I would agree to let my loved one go and be there with them to the end. One of my friends said, "It's my life and no one else's business." But you have to have some love and respect for your family. I would vote yes, but with conditions, for instance, all the doctors you've seen in the last X amt of yrs have to be notified, as does your family/next of kin, that you've chosen euthenasia. This is truly a can of worms, however, because - what about an appeals process for the next of kin? That could srsly drag out a person's pain.

Thing is, if my manager/supervisor is a good looking guy with a nice physique, it wouldn't be sexual harassment. It would be flirting. One more element that brings SH down to mere flirting - if he's rich. I've been related to women, friends with women and have worked with women for a long time. Only about 1 in 30 thinks differently than this. Whether she takes it to the next level depends on ambition, character and/or intelligence. A smart woman will work him. You know what I mean. One of our comedians in the U.S. said, "If he's old and ugly - call the police!"

It's stress of several different kinds. He should still be punished to the fullest extent, however & not use alcohol as an excuse. Has anyone been studying what living in a super-populated area does to people? I live in an area of about 30,000 and we're spread out over approx 70 miles. We're stressed, too, because it's hard to get a job here that pays enough where you can save enough money to move elsewhere. But we're not living on top of each other. Sure, young men get into fights here, too, but not to the point where someone is killed, and it's never random. The cost of living there, population density, job situations, lack of support ... it's creating powder kegs. But - what to do about it?

I think Japan should be concerned about this. NK is right over "there," isn't it? I know my sub-standard American education has been sub-standard, but I do remember that Japan is close to Korea. Send NK an email saying, "Let's not be shooting stuff in our direction. If you do, we're going to have to take appropriate measures." In a nutshell.

My parents never hit me, but they always said it was definitely possible, and I believed it. This is why my friend R says I have no fear. Her mother used to beat her kids terribly and my friend R has a lot of fear, even in adulthood. She has a lot of nervousness and anxiety as well. I think it's from walking on eggshells so much of the time with her mother. What my parents would do is take away my privileges. This especially hurt when I was in high school - no phone, no friends. Also, my dad was Catholic, so having to listen to his long rants full of blame, shame & guilt were a major deterrent to me.

She can't sing, David. They use pitch correction on her songs. A DJ in Seattle, Bob Rivers, played her last CD on the air and pointed out exactly where pitch correction was used. She is a good dancer, however. Anyone remember In Living Color? She has a good body and a cute face. Butt (pun there) there are other ppl out there who are more talented than J-Lo. They should have her fame.

Getting to know things about each other during sex on a 1st date reminds me of a story this guy told me. He picked up a girl at a bar & they went to a motel. Later when he was leaving their room, he said, "Well, thanks, Rachel. It's been fun," and she didn't say anything. She was putting things back in her purse & totally ignored him. He was almost out the door when something occurred to him. He never told a woman his real name. He always used his best friend's name. Then Rachel caught herself and said, "Oh, yeah, thanks ... ah, Steve, was it?" He said, "Rachel isn't your real name, is it?" She laughed and said, "No!" He said, "Steve's not my real name, either! Steve's my best friend." They both laughed but never did tell their real names. So that's something you can learn during sex on a 1st date - your partner's best friend's name.

The nurse has a good point about STDs. The times I have jumped into it on a first date, I've already known the person through friends or at work and have never had a ... problem. I've been married for 4 yrs & am happy to be out of circulation.

The only thing I'll say about the dispute between China and Japan is that history certainly does repeat itself. Do you ever think we'll be free of atrocities, documentation and arguments? Maybe not in our lifetimes.

I agree with the poster saying men shouldn't pay for dinner. That's old-fashioned. Don't go to dinner on the 1st date - go for a drink or coffee instead. Go to dinner after you've decided you like each other. And women should pay their own check. No harm, no foul that way. If I like the guy, I won't have sex with him on the 1st date. If I don't like him but he's good looking or has a nice body, I'm up for some gymnastics. Then it's sayonara. Sex before marriage, however, is a must-do for adults.
