Maybe this guy said to the customs officer, "India?" He breaks into insane giggling, "You're yankin my chain, dude. Last time I woke up, I was in Thailand! Hahahahaha." ("Was I really in India??) Only a pothead would swallow 243 packets. Had he gotten through customs, he would've ended up in the emergency room, anyway. More fodder for World's Dumbest Criminals.

Cleo's right, race can be a conversation starter if a person isn't too touchy. Sometimes you want to find out what you have in common just to get things rolling. I'm expecting when I come to Japan some people will say, "Are you Japanese?" I look like the mix between an Asian and a Caucasian. It just gets the ball rolling. "No, I'm a Native American." But I need to watch out with that b/c some ppl think everyone born in the U.S. is a Native American, which is actually correct when you think about it. We'll probably talk about ancestors and then move on to other mundane stuff - where are you from? Family with you? Baseball fan? Love crab puffs? Stay away from Roppongi. It's definitely a conversation starter. I also get, "Are you Mexican?" I'm not even sensitive to it anymore.

That's it, then. The only thing to do is head down to Roppongi and get a part-time evening job as a bartender. Do unto others before they do you.

I think I could actually wear that ensemble to work and the grocery store. In my neighborhood, no one would even look twice at the gun.

The way things are currently going, and it looks like there's no going back, not that we would want it to -- some day pretty much everyone will be haafu, and then even the word will be forgotten and we'll move onto another way to label each other.

Is this a sly wink for the fetishists? Probably not good to overthink this pic. It wasn't meant for that. Meanwhile, kaptain, I think Britney Spears "Circus" road show is more a sign of the apocalypse than the ambassadors of cute.

You need to be okay by yourself. My experiences so far are that the people who are NOT okay by themselves are the ones to steer clear of. Instead of going to a hotel room, scrape a little extra cash together and go to a spa. I'm a writer and an artist so I always take a good book, paper and pens and my laptop with me. There's no, "I'm bored." "Okay, we did something you like, now let's do something I like" (go to the bar and drink all evening). You get tired of being with complainers (and they AGREED to come along, of their own free will!) and the passive-agressive who will bring it up later during a giant tantrum, or who will continue to bring it up for weeks in the future. Life is too short to be suffering through unhappy days.

She must be fat according to Japanese standards. I live in the U.S. and you should see the fatties in this lard-saturated neck of the woods. Actually, check that - you really don't want to see, especially in summer.

Our whole world is going crazy. I firmly believe that if guns were outlawed for the general population in the U.S., we'd just find something else to kill each other with. Children can make bombs out of drano. None of us are truly safe. What can we do about it? In the U.S., this guy in Alabama would've qualified for a gun permit - clean mental health record, no rap sheet at all. What can we do to stop these ppl from going nuts in public/at schools and killing our families?

Looks like you have trailer trash in Japan, too. They're always fun to spectate as long as you can move quickly out of the way. And men are never worth fighting over, either, bobba.

Miss Hilton could do more, but she doesn't. She does well at promoting herself. Some of us who don't come from wealthy families or have a lot of money are active in our communities taking care of the elderly, organizing voters, collecting winter coats for children, rescuing animals, and on. We work at full-time jobs and manage to do volunteer work in our free time. Miss Hilton doesn't. She could at least campaign for planned parenthood. But she doesn't. She gives an impression to the rest of the world that Americans are vapid and shallow, and we're not. She doesn't care about the message she gives off as long as it's PR for her. This is why I'm hoping she'll abandon this country and go live in England or France, anywhere else.

I like how Christine Quinn said the game is available on other websites. LOL! Hurricane force winds whip up from squillions of ppl rushing to their computers. Banning/boycotting this game is going to up its sales. Meanwhile, just because a girl wears a short skirt, etc., lot of makeup, whatever, doesn't mean she's asking for it.

I don't know what we can realistically do about this because rape (and murder) has been around since ... well, since people have been around. Probably what we can really do, those of us who care, is make sure there's support for victims and their families. We can also make sure people who commit these crimes are caught and prosecuted. What I'm currently advocating is tougher punishments for pedophiles. That's what I can realistically do. Can we stop the rapists, murderers and pedophiles before they get started? I'm not sure we'll ever agree on an answer to that question. I personally don't think so.

I'll tell you what I'm seeing right now where I live. I'm a Native American living on an Indian reservation in the U.S. The town next to the reservation is a large farm town where everyone shops for groceries, clothing, etc. This past weekend a Native living in the farm town shot a White sheriff's deputy and nearly killed him. Most ppl in town aren't going to see a criminal shooting a deputy. They'll see an Indian shooting a White man. This is still an old belief from the turn of the century that no one's confronting and that no one will talk about. We need to work on this but no one's willing. I came out here to do some research on Japan because guns are illegal for the citizenry. I was thinking that's a great idea, but it turns out we'll just find some other way to kill each other. I like reading the news on Japan Today because I see a lot of similarities in all of us. I just wish everyone else would, too.

You and I both know what's going to happen. Sooner or later the headlines will be, "Parents of boy charged in area rapes say boy influenced by game." It'll be here soon. And because there are first person shooter games where you score points for shooting someone in the head doesn't mean it's okay to have rape-sim games. You don't think ppl haven't been protesting against GTA? Rape is worse than murder. With rape, you never ever forget exactly what happened, even with counseling. Someone once said that rape is a kind of murder. Do we want to live around the kinds of ppl that are into this game? Do you want your daughter dating this guy? Do you want to live next door to him with your wife and children? Do you want your mother living next door to him?

Like republicans are any better. It's just politicians, period. They're seen as about as trustable as a used car salesman. But, seriously - that's a lot of money. I need to rethink my career choice. And get better at stashing cash.

I like it. I'm betting their numbers will grow. It's not that they're anti-social, they're merely socializing in a different way. Living with someone or marrying and having children isn't for everyone, nor should it be. It's best to know that about yourself early on than to get half way into it, with children, and think, "Oops, I don't like this."

Americans need to agree to the jurisdiction of the international criminal court like the rest of the world. Americans can then finally begin to compensate for all the damage they have caused world-wide.
Most of us don't know anything about what the U.S. really does in the world because we're kept in the dark. We don't get the real news. The real news is easier to access now, however, thx to the internet.
