Hard to believe some one has the time, tools, & such to cut up a human that can be stuffed into a suitcase. Also without leaving some form of a mess. Crumbs even getting a turkey ready for Xmas is a task to me.

Possibly ZOOM airlines from Scotland to Cdn & back could have copied Jazz & possible lasted a week longer instead of suddenly going belly-up & leaving so many stranded. Mind you Zoom does go over the Atlantic Ocean.
Agree with out JoeBigs for it would be like the railway bunkers & so the upper & lowers to sleep in. My how i remember those days.

Prices are bound to go up for what can you find to be the same price of a few years ago?
Tack on the cost of fuel for transporting & again another reason for climbing prices. So we should not be surprised at airlines folding up, for instance Zoom airlines being a Scottish firm I thing being from Scotland to Canada & back, simply left the people stranded at the airports & claimed it was all on the cost of fuel. Probably they were running on a "shoe-string" & fuel was the final raise in costs they had not expected.
After all in Japan to so many other countires it is the truck drivers that are transporting almost everything from wood to you name it which also included cars/trucks, to FOOD products & even us humans.

Sorry, but forgot to mention the bit about the children was just the last minute or so before the "ironman" crossed the finishing line. Not just a few people but a maze of a crowd on so many of the places so the cheering was going on from start to finish & that is enough to have anyone pleased even if they came in some hours later to the top few winners.

True it has finished, BUT athletes are far from being finished in their sports. On Sunday was the Ironman Trialthon, held in Penticton city area, for around a high number of 200+ competitots that started to finish the line after 8 hrs to some coming in 11 hours to otherers being picked up at the 13th hour.
Teriffic crowds & something that cought my eye, in some around 10th hour had their 4 or 5 year old child to hang onto hand & them be lifted up to ride on their shulders. Some a few yrs older so it was so family like.
We are looking at competitors from USA, all across Cdn., USA, South America, England the continent of Europe & yes some from Asian countries.
Thing is at the end of THIS week will be the ULTRAMAN event of where one does the swimming, another does the cycling some 420 Km, & another does the running which will be in my home town of Summerland area------all new to me I have to admit.
Again athletes sigend up from all of a Canada, USA, South America, UK, the continent of Europe which includes Greece, Portugal, & Spain plus some from Asia as well.

Really not out of line over here in Canada (do note Cdn is such a young country compared to the age of Japan) for RCMP to city police officers are often North American Indians to Chinese (could be ex-Japanese as well) to East Indian people that have been here for the given time to become Cdn citizens & then applied for city police or RCMP training. This also includes FEMALE police officers as mentioned above.
Good luck to the chap over in New Zealand.

I wonder if this is the team that spent some time looking for the Ogopogo in the Okanagan Lake a few yrs back? Of could it be the team that has looked for some human like monster in B.C. Mountains?

I am pleased to see they use the word "Entertainment" for some still call it Pro Wrestling & according to law Professional Wrestling is an ENTERTAINMENT & not a true SPORT. They are actors the the injoyment of the onlookers like actors are on stage or in movies.
Yes some actually believe Pro Wrestling is the REAL thing.

Mind you in Canada on a few occasions I have stopped an RCMP Patrol car to ask directions or best city road/sttreet to be on to a certain street for I do not carry a cellular phone.
Actually I think they were releaved to show their politness to a Cdn citizen & especially a motorcycle rider. For they do tend to pinch us riders & especially one's sportbike's for a bit over the max speed limit we prefer to ride at.

During WWI did the British not arm ships & fake their appearance so they could take down German destroyers or such. Were they not called Q-ships? You can see I go along with Sid's post above.

I do not think it would be to smart a thing to try over in the Province of B.C. Canada. Just this week a woman came off a commercial white water inflated rubber boat/raft set up to carry said number of people, to be swept under a lot of wood from the spring. Her safety gear did not save her live, & in another case a man was accidently swept down river to also hit rocks & was dead upon recovery.

Some m/c makers for their road racing bikes, will use carbon fiber, you will also find fuel tanks made out of carbon fibre. Without question it is very light, but cost is almost beyond the reach of the normal m/c riders.
I honestly feel there is a lot more we can learn about carbon fiber for anything that is motor driven.

I heard about this several days ago. Went all over the newspapers & such, but this incident was only mentioned on JT.
As ex-amateur wrestler in both Free-Style & Greco-Roman I can see why an Italian possibly filled in as one of the Judges (even judges need a break or feel a more experienced judge should fill their place) & yes even they can be wrong.
The attude of the wrestler should be more sensible, but then possibly he was is a rotten mood over the refree &/or judges. Believe me they can be way out of line. I know for I won many events to work my way up to win in my wt catagory of the Western Cdn Championship. At times, in those yrs, I did not get along like charm with all judges to referees. Same when I was Certified Amateur Wrestling Instructor in both Alberta & B.C.
Mind you those yrs of being in the amateur wrestling world-----well it was strange with ups & downs. Though I simply accepted it as is & never did have a dispute. It might have been inside of me for a few minutes, but I never let it out in expression or you name it.
To win in tournaments is tough on the competitors, the referees, to the judges. So this chap simply dropped his Bronze & that is as far as he went.

Just one question, if you do not mind, but how many other medals are there within his grasp? Michael Phelps has pretty well shocked the world.

ALSO the drysuits of then, in said picture, of to-day are not like the old dry suits of back in the late-40s nor the foam wet suits of around the 50s. YES this shows how time changes things along with the more modern equipment.

I remember I started out with long underware & so called "Dry Suits" that leaked then onto a "wet suit" of foam & the very basic of breathing equipment. It was the closest thing to feeling like you were flying or had become some sort of a fish. Loved it for the five years though never in salt water of the Pacific or Atlantic oceans & always in fresh water rivers or lakes.
