let's hope they don't screw it up..

Could be looking at letting the new lay judges sit on this trial as well. Evidence is stacked up so his guilt won't be a problem - only question mark will be over whether it was premeditated, if proven then good chance he'll swing.

Hostess clubs may be many things but "very highly respected" isn't one of them, no matter how rich the punters are.

I didn't know the BNP was a white supremacist org. There is a really nice guy here, who has a Japanese wife, who is a big supporter of them. I wonder if I should say something to him.

Yup, give him this gem on miscegenation from Griffin,

"Do I regard someone who is married to or living with a partner of another race as a suitable member or candidate for the BNP? No, because by their choice they have clearly shown that they do not share our most fundamental values."

If he remains a big supporter nonetheless then reconsider your own definition of "nice guy".

Kids (young and old) have been thrashing out to Napalm Death for the best part of the last three decades - nothing generational about them whatsoever.

Then you must be furious with the Scottish authorities for convicting an innocent man.

Yes, that is precisely the sentiment that the majority of the British public, not to mention many of the the victims' families have been attempting to get accross. The day he heard he was being released he dropped his appeal.

By releasing him on compassionate grounds MacAskill has done the British and American Governments a favour as it has silenced the growing call to hold an independent review into the unsafe conviction and uncover the reasons why the Scottish Courts may have carried out such a massive miscarriage of justice in the first place.

He was freed because his conviction was so monumentally unsafe it was an embarrassment to keep him locked up any longer. The whole compassionate grounds reasoning is nothing more than a timely smokescreen which suits the Scottish courts, Gadhafi's ego, Western oil companies and most importantly the American and British Governments because there will now no longer be an independent review into the bombing to discover what really happened. The only people who have been duped are the victims' families.

    The above article only part quoted Dr Jim Swire's staggeringly, reasoned and judicious comments;

"I feel despondent that the west and Scotland didn't have the guts to allow this man's second appeal to continue because I am convinced had they done so it would have overturned the verdict against him. It's a blow to those of us who seek the truth but it is not an ending. I think it is a splitting of the ways."

He is right, Germany should take examples how Japan or ex-colonist countries like the UK showed mea culpa about their wrongdoing in past history.

Only the perpetrator can show mea culpa - that is Daldry's point.

Because China's economy (GDP) is not shrinking like advanced countries.

Unemployment figures are much more important for economists - not so easy to massage.

"They may eventually go to the public prosecutors office and give them information that will lead to your downfall."

"They" being law-abiding citizens, "information" being evidence of criminal activity and "downfall" being arrest, trial and conviction through the courts. Hardly kangaroo court stuff is it.

The police are not here to protect Nova teachers on a lark.

Yes they are. She paid her taxes, why should she receive a lower standard of care than other Japanese residents, native or non-native.

Things probably would have gone a bit better if the Europeans had offered more than token contributions.

3 Brits were killed over the weekend in Afghanistan, one from the Royal Welsh on Saturday and two lads from the Queen's Dragoon Guards killed by a road-side bomb yesterday. Neither incident mentioned here surprise surprise.

Of course they are, both have thier leanings and bais, their level of bais I suppose though is relative to the reader/viewer.

Sorry, I just can't take this seriously. You honestly place Fox News and BBC World on a par? And their level of bias is based on interpretation rather than content?!?!? Behave La!

Whatever they do is it likely be any less propaganda than Fox, Aljazeera, the BBC & CNN?

'cos BBC World Service and Fox News are comparable like that....

The BBC is an instrument of Zionist propaganda. In addition to defending Israel’s terrorism and the illegal occupation of Palestinian land, the BBC is an active complicit in Zionism war crimes throughout the Middle East.

The Beeb gets accused of quite the opposite on a far more regular basis. The balanced criticism suggests a degree of impartiality at least.

And to the poster shouting libel - try googling the words "Hearsay" or "Statements of Opinion". They teach it lesson one, day one at The Daily Mail school of journalism.

"Massive savings can be had on hotel stays, dining out and shopping.” 2.5 percent drop??? You've got to be kidding.

Once you add on the insane drop in the exchange rate then yup - Japanese tourists are having a Beano over here at the moment. 210 yen to 120 yen in less than 6 months.

My missus got this film out so we could "watch it together". It made my eyes bleed it was so dire. Oh, and James Bond really, REALLY shouldn't try to sing. Although I'm yet to meet a lass who doesn't love it with an almost religious passion. Maybe it's like WWII movies for girls.

Too true whitepocky - Platini still blames us as a nation for Heysel and it clouds his every dealing with the FA. Great player, bad president.

Jack "Nobody in Europe likes England" Warner will also have a big say in the outcome - God help us all!
