Been there 4 times since it opened and amazed how quickly I was able to pass through. Even getting there of the M25 spur is an absolute doddle. Mates and colleagues who've used it all say the same. Still, anything beats the zoo that is T3.

Boris Johnson? My image of the English gentleman out the window. If his jolly-good-old-chap attitude is the mirror of the British today, there is reason to worry about what people from all over the world will find in London in 2012.

People from all over the world are already proud to call London their home - ugly warts and all. That is the entire point of London's message.

Beijing's desperate quest to deliver rehearsed perfection came at far too expensive a cost - financially, socially, and ethically - 1.2 million evicted from their homes to build a running track is hardly perfect now is it?

It had all the authenticity and soul of a Britney concert. London will be the perfect tonic to the rehearsed fakery of Beijing; loud, inclusive, spontaneous and brash.

A sweaty, raw mosh-pit of an Olympics compared to the Michael Flatley's Riverdance dullanthon that Beijing served up. However if computer enhanced firework displays, sparkly costumes and freakishly rehearsed choreography float your boat so easily then perhaps London's isn't the city for you after all.

“and the fact that Ms Olsen does not know the source of the drugs Mr. Ledger consumed.”

In which case she should have nothing to fear from speaking with the DEA. A bit of a nonsensical request really.

Whether it's 'degrading and humiliating' is up to the person doing it, I'd think...why is it 'offensive to women'? These women have chosen it as a way to exercise, I don't know why others have to be offended by it.

I didn't say it was "degrading, humiliating or offensive". I said it was moronic and ridiculous watching women play at being sex-industry workers.

I also said it was inappropriate for kids barely into their teens to be encouraged to play at being sex-industry workers too.

We had this moronic fad for a brief spell here in the UK - some woman even tried to start classes for kids at a local school spouting the usual drivel about female empowerment and boosting confidence - by pretending to be sex-industry workers.....

You want to get fit then go for a run or do some sit-ups. I ainn't a prude but this is a ridiculous idea when you stop and think.

    >comparing over 200 items, including housing, transport, food, clothing, household goods and entertainment

    Hang on!!! London is more expensive for all of the following;

Residential proprty prices Rent Eating out both at fast food pits or decent restaurants The cost of a pint Travelling anywhere on the tube, bus or overland train network Taxis Packet of fags Petrol Tickets to the Theatre Tickets to a football/rugby/cricket match

On top of this Londoners pay higher Income tax, higher National Insurance Contirbutions and higher Local Authority Council Tax and we tip at 12%.

Who on earth makes these lists and do they get paid for doing them is what I want to know?!?!

"Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman Ahmadi claimed responsibility for a bomb blast in neighboring Helmand province on Tuesday that the defense ministry in London said killed four British troops."

These 4 are on top of the 5 Paras killed in Helmand last week. Do you ever read any news that doesn't directly involve the US?

Australian and French people don't need to take a test, just goto the motor office and 2 hours later you have a new Japanese license, no driving or written tests just an automatic license. I think this is the case for all right hand driving countries, but don't quote me on that.

Sorry to quote you but, as my missus would say.......... eh?????

Soochi...looks like your right up there with the men hater women I know at work but in this case it's the women hater role.

    OK, I'll bite.

Explain to me the misogyny in criticising Chocho-san's foolish notion that elevates the role of a hostess - lighting fags, pouring booze and massaging inflated egos for cash - to some kind of aspirational profession worthy of society's respect and for schoolage kids' to emulate. Sorry Kitsune but I ain't buying that kind of vulgarity for a second.

She can delude herself that hostessing is an audacious natural expression of femininity (whatever that even means!) to be somehow celebrated rather than repressed as much as she wants. The bottom line is it pays fantastically well and suits certain girls who want to make a lot of cash in a short space of time in a relatively easy manner. And good luck to them, if a student can earn her tuition fees for uni or save up enough to put down a deposit on an apartment by doing this gig for a few years then great!

But any girl entering Mizu-shobai for reasons other than earning cold hard cash needs either therapy or some serious moral guidance. It is underground for a reason and its employees, and patrons, tend to prefer it that way.

I am just sick of the increasing trend by the media to bring certain aspects of the Sex Industry into mainstream culture. Maybe it's since I became a father, maybe since I turned 30, who knows? What I do know however is that Japanese society needs hostesses giving career advice to its youth right now like it needs a hole in the bleedin' head.

I'd fire him purely on the basis that he must be God-awful at his job if this sorry tale is anything to go by.

Apparently the very same venue had been raided by the rozzers beck in Feb in a drugs bust and remains a notorious drug-den.

“Women should try to become more open in applying their feminine nature—things will go better for them.”

I wonder if such sage advice for woman-kind continues into their 30s when the late nights, booze and fags have taken their toll and the punters suddenly seem more interested in the younger competition. I guess thats when they sit down to write a best-seller about how honourable their industry is.

Hostessing is a great way to earn some dosh for lasses in their twenties and more power to them, but leave off with the self delusional claptrap about female empowerment. The drunk punter telling the bad jokes and buying the booze ain't there for your "audacity and coquettishness" no matter how hard you kid yourself. Now pour me another Johnnie Walker, light my fag and hitch that skirt up a smidgen higher there's a good girl and I'll make sure you get a good tip at the end of the night.
