I'm in Ota-ku and the winds here are really blowing strong. I never been through a typhoon before, so it's a little scary for me. Thank God my hubby came home early.

Being able to get ingredients to make Puerto Rican food, like gandules, sazon, achiote. Oh and pernil YUM! Wish customs here weren't so damn strict with everything sigh

Yesterday, my husband and I did volunteer work at a children's home in Tokyo. We got to play with the 3 to 5 year old age group. the kids were so cute, adorable, and very loving. I wish I could of taken them all home!
I also know that they're there because of some sort of abuse or abandonment. My worries were that they get returned to the same abusive environment. And to see this story just breaks my heart. Poor little angel is dead because mama can't handle life.
RIP little angel.

Where is the father of the child in all this? If I was her husband, I would be outraged! I already expressed my thoughts on the mother.

When my kids were little, I never, ever left my kids in the car alone, not even for a second! Put them on the stroller and go. Where I went, they went. I don't understand why anyone would defend the mom in this. Doesn't matter if people think Japan is safe or not, you just don't leave your kid in a car alone period.!
I do wonder why didn't she just carry her child with her into the store? Maybe she thought it was too much trouble to tote her around or get the stroller out to put her in it.
Sorry, but she should of known better.

This article reminded me of my first time in Japan and not knowing what the word meant. I was eating at a restaurant with a Japanese friend, when suddenly this little boy (about 5 years old) in the next booth, looked and pointed at me and said ''gaijin''! But his parents looked so embarrassed and told him to hush and said sorry to me. My Japanese friend told me it meant ''foreigner'' but not a nice way to say it. Which then made me wonder what were the kid's parents teaching him at home?

My hubby has taken photos of food when he's traveled overseas. I do it because I like showing off my mad cooking skillz (^_^)
I don't care if folks want to take photos of their food (especially the booze) hehe.

Poke me awake when they start streaming ''Family Guy'', ''The Simpsons'' and ''American Dad''. I'm a VPN user too,so that's how I can see some of my favorite shows.
Judge Judy would be great too.

I think Yuko was trying to show that she can write in English. If she wanted to use the guy,she could of done so from the get go.
I think the author threw away a 2 year friendship by jumping the gun and kinda being full of himself.

For the folks who think that being dress in short skirts and what-not invites rape: what about elderly women who are raped? Do you think they were dressed ''slutty'' when they were assaulted?
People tend to forget or not understand that rape is about power and control, not about how a woman is dressed.

Aren't Apple products made in China? That's what is says on my Ipod (bought in the USA). So it can be confusing to tell which ones are fakies and which ones are real.

I do have a bit of an issue with the title. Can't people just like cats ''just because''? It' sounds so stereotypical to lump in cat lovers as lonely and childless spinsters. How about ''purrrfect for cat lovers?'' Just sayin' JT.
