I think some posters are mistaking the fact that under socialism and other market systems selling items for profit do not betray those systems.
Michael Moore making money from his movies isn't going against the principles he is promoting.
Capitalism/Socialism/Communism is a question of not only how revenue is generated but more importantly of HOW that the country distributes the wealth to its people.

Just like the US Marines 200 years ago "on the shores of Tripoli" should open fire and attack with necessary force on these Somali pirates.
Having little backward small armed pirates making fools out of well-armed navies is embarrassing and can easily be stopped if they stop showing restraint.

Lifetime employment, inexpensive health care for all, affordable education, the motto "a hundred million people equal". I agree with Moore that Japan was on the right track and should not have veered toward free market capitalism, especially with Koizumi's policies.

These women and "nekama" can have him. They're also welcomed to be strangled to death and dumped nude into a bathtub full of sand.

Reading the criticism against Obama by the media and govt. officials shows me why US is seen as arrogant and have fallen in the eyes of the world.
Obama is an excellent diplomat as well as a president who has very sound ideas and understanding of other cultures.

I'd follow him really closely while calling the police at the same time (I'd get dibs to claim the ransom), when he's apprehended by me or the cops.
If he makes out that I'm following him, I'd start yelling "Ichihashi the Killer!" so everyone around me would pay attention, so he wouldn't try to assault me.
If he starts running, I'd stay right on him, since I'd want that huge ransom for this slug.

I am with Balsa666 on this. I've found quite a lot of good movies with those actors/directors he/she mentioned. I really thought "Sore demo boku ha yatte nai" ("I didn't do it") was really good. I also like the actor Odagiri Joe and Tadanobu Asano. I think recently there's been a few less blockbusters but some good gems here and there. "Cha no Aji" comes to mind.
I like the some of the slow or still scenes that occur in Japanese films. Also the fact that tragedies (heroes/heroines dying) are still being made. In Hollywood movies it's a no-brainer that the hero will never meet his maker - predictable thus unsuspenseful.

I really think a death penalty of being put to death the way you made your victim die would really be appropriate. I would love to see the fear on his face right before being jettisoned off the same bridge. I feel so sorry for the little girl. May she rest in peace.

Cars were stopped going in the opposite direction and the kid suddenly jumped out from between the stopped cars. By law, yes, the responsibility goes to the driver, but in actuality, the kid really was at fault, if the truck driver was paying attention and tried to stop immediately. You don't necessarily have to be speeding in order for this to happen either. Just pretty damn unlucky.

Used to watch it all the time growing up. Really liked the unexpected twist at the end, which glued you to your seat till the end of the episode.

The Hatoyamas are walking down a slope. That's why they look as tall as the Obamas. You can tell by looking at where the flower bed wall and the ground meet. Good luck to the 'amas'.

Hugging doesn't make ME uncomfortable. It's when my Japanese counterpart stiffens up like a corpse that makes both of us look silly.
