Wait a couple of or few years and see the effects the TPP has on South Korea and the other countries. Then make a decision after seeing some of the results of this "experiment".

Mods -> The title should read, "Central League".

I think the boy deserved it. It sounds like he's turning into a junior high school dropout/delinquent and bringing a bunch of punk kids over to his mother's house while she's at work. He then goes on to break his promise and lying straight to her face.

Sorry but an ass-whooping by dad with a kendo stick was something a few of my friends got when we were teenagers when we did something pretty bad. So many on this board decry the lack of heavy discipline these days and talk so often about how "things were different when I was a kid and how I would get smacked for...." etc. but when it happens now, many are so quick to criticize.

Which do you prefer? Letting this kid run roughshod over his mother and her home or giving him a few shots with the kendo stick to teach him a lesson that she's not to be disrespected like this?

Tanigaki is the scourge and absolute predictable reactionary in the opposition LDP. He does nothing but make condemnations, calls for resignations, and snap elections.

I think the DPJ should attack him and spotlight Tanigaki's constant obstructionist stance to the media/people to make him clam up.

Like the posters above wrote, there are too many urgent things to take care of than to play this topple the Prime Minister game.

If Japan sends them back to North Korea to their deaths, I'll lose a lot of respect for this country.

A kid left in the car while returning a cart is quite understandable. It usually takes less than a minute and I admit I do it sometimes after strapping my kids into their car seats.

I don't have enough details about how long this mother left her kid in the car so I won't comment about that. But I do hope to God they find this little girl OK.

If both men tested negative for their second test, why are they still being removed from duty and punished? Also can't the media be more specific as to which illegal substances they're accused of taking? This is very vague.

I thought Japanese were supposed to be good at secrecy and being vague. This is quite a blunder for an air traffic controller. A regular Joe would have more common sense than to give away the US President's flight plans. What is it with Japanese and all their leaks via Winny and other social media?

It would be more helpful if they could give us a better understanding and perhaps a map of what exactly "uncomfortably close" means. The negative feelings held by a large percentage of Japanese toward Russia and China are exacerbated by these unnecessary and provocative acts.

These and the US military assistance during the 3/11 disasters is why the US presence by the the Japanese has seen a larger share of support recently.

I don't trust either country to be nearly as benign as the US and Japan should always be on their guard against them.

They claimed they did it. The 19 hijackers were all confirmed Al Quaeda members. The conspiracy theories are bunk and laughable. Without the Internet, these 9/11 conspiracy theories wouldn't have proliferated nearly as much had this event happened prior.

Poor girl. An absolutely awful story. The constant crying of an infant can be very tough for parents, I know, but it is to be expected and should never result in this. These are "monster parents".

It would be nice to label them the Japanese way (with #s) in addition to the name names since this site is aimed at those of us who live here in Japan. I tend to use the # names when talking about typhoons. Even to non-Japanese.

When you go to a shrine or a grave you pray for those who died from yesterday to however many years back. Your flippant remark steve@CPFC doesn't make you look very educated and shows poor reading comprehension.

I pray at Yasukuni for my grandfather who died in WWII in Tokyo, when I'm not in my family's hometown. No arrogant Chinese or Korean is going to tell me not to.

Unfortunately, Yasukuni brought in the names/spirits of convicted/accused war criminals in the mid-70s but that has nothing to do with me or my grandfather nor to the thousands of other souls that are there.

Sometimes the past need to atonement and each to a different degree. The current Chinese/Korean populace demand atonement excessively. The Japanese DO whitewash their own history (just as the Chinese & Koreans do). There's plenty of shame to go around for all three.

Personally, I believe these three governments should treat each other by what policies/actions they take towards each other now and from the past 30 years, which I consider to be of THIS generation.

I think he over-reacted. If it was only slight vision impairment he could have pulled into the station slower than normal and they could've exchanged drivers there. He has 24 years experience and could've probably pulled in with his eyes closed. Pun intended.)

He pulled into the previous stations just fine without his glasses. (Station if he started driving from Shin Osaka). Also, a conductor could've been called to the front to assist the driver with visual assistance.

Perhaps now that they've seen some of the problems and have time, they can start installing converters so that western and eastern Japan can share electricity in the case of a future shortage. Or make both parts of the country use either 50 or 60 kwz.

Many industrialized nations made uniform the watts that their respective countries use after WWII. Or perhaps Japan will again sit around for another sixty years doing nothing about until another disaster and shortage to occur.

A typical Chinese welcoming wagon filled with threats and reminders of their claims to the new prime minister of Japan. An annoying neighbor indeed.
