Anyone feel like having a laugh? Try this: The USA is to host World Press Freedom Day in 2011.
Superlib exclaimed:
This is for your information, SL. Please do a little background reading before lecturing others. I'm quoting J. Assagne.
*The cables we have release correspond to stories released by our main stream media partners and ourselves. They have been redacted by the journalists working on the stories, as these people must know the material well in order to write about it. The redactions are then reviewed by at least one other journalist or editor, and we review samples supplied by the other organisations to make sure the process is working. *
There has never been a 'blanket release' of any document.

Why should/would they? Do you honestly believe China would be happy having US forces right on it's border? Furthermore, although it may be difficult for you to comprehend this, not every nation in the world shares the US world view and corresponding gunboat diplomatic strategy.

Terrorism is a tactic not an army, nation or landmass. You people need to realise that a war can't be fought against a tactic and resolving to fight until 'every last one of them is dead' = perpertual war.
Anyhoo, good luck with it.

Wassup fellas?
Nice try, but the NATO raid originated in Afghanistan which is currently occupied by American troops. I believe this is what the poster meant.
Where does he actually say Pakistan is occupied?

OssanAmerica declared:
Just what is it with Americans and seeking potential for violent conflict in every possible situation? I understand that the USA Congress is heavily influenced by the military; I understand also that Americans are raised to consider themselves as part of a special nation with a divine mission to spread peace and democracy - usually through agression.
But why project so much?
This was a petty dispute between two nations with a symbiotic trading relationship which neither really wants to disrupt. Neither Japan nor China are stupid. There was no actual scope for all-out war - though I see this is type of diplomacy best understood by the USA.

I'd rather we all looked forward more. Looking back is fine so long as it is freed from the encumberance of 'Because it should never happen again' syndrome.
It ALWAYS happends again and we rarely learn the lessons of history.
Posted in: Do you think events like 9/11, the attack on Pearl Harbor, the A-bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and so on should be commemorated each year or would you rather see the dates fade into history without any annual official ceremony?

>know it's roots....NO to Morning Musume, NO to AKB48, NO to Micro-mini skirts as high school uniforms for girls...all of those are the simple roots of child pornography in this country. In other countries, as far as I know...poverty is the main root of the problem...and that's not easy to resolve.
Um, so M.musume/AKB et al are to blame for child porn in Japan and for the rest of the world it's poverty?
If only people would get over the misconception that these girl bands are in someway turning otherwise normal males into raving sexual deviants. I enjoy looking at the AKB girls - must I now seek psychiatric/sexual counselling?
There is no way to eradicate child porn. It was always there and always will be. Sad but painfully true.
