Will this usher in a new era of potential 'pre-emptive strikes' by the USA upon other states which it deems to be in contravention of this new way of thinking.

Sounds to me like Bush's old 'Your either with us or without us' motto dressed up in a sugar coating.

Thing is, it's very difficult to argue against this because it appears so very humanistic. However, it allows America, once again, to assume the moral high ground on the issue, thereby granting allowing it to take any action neccessary against anyone not iin accordance.

They should bomb Iranian nuclear facilities before it is too late. Only a regime change will guarantee the safety of the world around Iranian borders.

hehe, yeah the Americans are the right guys for the job, right? With the Stars and Stripes behind it! Bomb the dirty B**tards before they bomb us. We'll ask questions later. While were at it we'll bomb N. Korea, too. They've been a thorn in the side of the USA, democracy, equailty and the American Way for years. 'Bout time they were taught a hard lesson they'll never forget.

Where next? Russia? France? Why stop there?

Sooner the USA is the only nuclear power on this planet, the better it'll be for all of us, then we can settle down to TOTALLY dominating the world militarilly, culturally and econoicaly. Anyone don't agree, bomb 'em 'till they do.

Spider notes...'I hear that teenage pregnancy is reletively low in Japan.'

Not true ! Teenage births are low... abortion remains the number one form of birth control in Japan.

    Source please?

Teen pregnancy and birth are so much lower than the UK. Japan remeins near the top of the world 'league table' for lowteen pregnancy rate.

    Sounds positive to me!

    I'll go with yes.

it is of little benefit to society and the possible risks involved are great

Benefit to society? Risks involved? How many other things could you name which have little or no benfit to society? What an odd viewpoint! As for risks! What risks are there in an ordinary guy/girl looking at a member of the opposite sex in a sexual manner.

If I happen to notice a pretty 16 year old there are a number of things which cross my mind, some of them are sexual. What risk is there in this? Am I now in danger of becoming a sexual deviant? Am I already a sexual deviant? Is this uncommon behaviour? Does it need to be surpressed? Should we ask young ladies to wear longer skirts and wolly sweaters?

It's perfectly normal for men to look at teenage girls and feel aroused, just as they would be aroused by any older female. I believe this article focuses upon Mana-chan who is a teenager.

It happens all the time. On the street, on TV and images in magazines. The men aren't 'sick', they don't need therapy and lead otherwise boringly normal lives.

Sadly, the whole issue of U-15 idols has been hijacked by the 'castrate and lock 'em up' vigil-anti mob. Reasoned, non-hysterical debate is impossible.

Why do the Japanese allow this 'sick filth'? Because they, quite reasonably, see no harm in monitoring and controling it's production.

Naturally Mana-Chan was "looking dazed and sheepish". Press conferences and photo calls such as this can be quite intimidating. It in no way suggests that she is being coerced.

I wonder if a guy like me and a gal like her could ever.....?

I hope the president has a good plan, because 4,000 troops is not a major difference. The soviets couldn't handle it with 250,000, we'd better have some radically different thinking to make 60,000 effective in any way.

Outwardly he's talking tough; back at the White House he's talking to al-Qaida.

Hypocrisy I say. If the game was about raping Afghan or Iraqi 'terrorist' women by soldiers it'd be acceptable I'd bet.

...Or perhaps a game wherein one large western country invades and ruins an smaller middle eastern one?

The USA has it's morals slightly confused when it allows children to play soldier in video games, burning with a flame thrower, shooting in the face, etc, etc. Yet at the first sign of sex they get very worried about the effect it might have on their children.

Does anyone agree that there does seems to be a lot pedophilia here and it is not looked down on?

    No.

And since when did secretly filming schoolgirls on the loo equal pedophillia?

how many years of school to end up pointing all day?

Not everyone has the privilege of wealthy parents and/or a university education. As with so many other things in Japan it all about service and keeping up appearences. Would you rather these women stay at home?

Another aspect of the Japanese consumer-driven service. I have no problem with it or with women wanting to work in this field if they so desire.

I'm more interested in how long it will be before the Otakus fetishise them and start devoting photo-websites in their honour.

Helter - I agree 250% - Race shouldn't be an issue in this election.

But I fear it will be for many people. Still, the Obama-mania does offer hope for the States which, lest we forgot, maintained their separate drinking fountains for whites and blacks right into the 60s.

What I'd really like to see is a black (very black not mixed-race), lesbian, woman who comes out and admits she don't believe in God. When that person gets the nomination I'll begin to feel better about the USA as a country.

The birth is declining, and all they can do with the few kids remaining is this... Sick, sick, sick...

And people are amazed when little kids are kidnapped and raped. Look at what the media feeds the public and tells them what is "cute". Pedophile paradise.

Japan, like much of the dveloped world, is driven by youth and entertainment. Why on earth are you getting so hysterical about this? It reflects popular tastes and sells (it it wouldn't exist) It's ridiculous that every time a young girl appears on the scene it immediately get associated, by some, with pedophillia! You are obsessed.

If some troubled individual is going to kidnap a child they'll do it regardless of whether there are kids in the public eye or not. I guess you also blame video games for the violence in society.

It's been going on for years in the pop industry. Get over it!
