Keeps getting bigger. Haven't looked into the S4 that much though, still satisfied with my S3 and don't see myself going back to the iphone anytime soon.

It's a sad day, that's for sure. Saw some picture of one guy who had both his legs blown off. Man, he was probably just there cheering some runners on that day, now he's missing his legs. I really have very little faith left in humanity. I just can't fathom how someone would think hurting others like this would be a good idea to get their point across.

Any plane has to notify any airport when they're in their air space, civilian or military. Now they just have to notify the US military before anyone else. Yuri, I find most of your criticisms baseless when it comes to base issues. The laughable part is they're being spouted from somewhere out in the central plains of the US, while living off the US government dime.

I always disliked this whole "make their parents pay" thing that happens in Japan. Had a friend who put his parents on his lease and then decided to just stop paying his rent. Came back on his parents even though they were all the way in Okinawa, just didn't seem right to me. Sorry but the parents shouldn't have to pay anything if the person is an adult, time to grow up. In this case it's different since the offender is a minor but I still don't think all financial responsibility should fall on the parents with situations like this.

Whatever happens, if North Korea launches any sort of missile, even if it's a "test launch", the US and Japan need to shoot it down. I know they've allowed North Korea to test missiles by shooting them over Japan before but with all this saber rattling from NK, they need to shoot it down to let them know that Japan and it's allies won't take their BS anymore.

She let them starve? Man, that has to be one of the worst ways to go. Top that off it was a mother doing that to her own children. Hope she goes crazy with guilt while in jail.

Stole your farm you say? So that means your family is getting a nice check from the government for the use of their land correct? I'd hardly call that stealing, unless you didn't actually have a claim to the land in the first place. Plenty of protesters pick up tiny slivers of land on base so they can try to say the US took their land. As far as the tombs go, it was the Japanese that were using them as bunkers, ammo storage, hideouts, etc during The Battle of Okinawa, not the US. So if you want to blame someone for desecrating tombs across Okinawa you might want to look at Japan first. Any tombs that are on US installations right now sit vacant. Families were allowed to remove remains (if there were any left) but the US does not and never has destroyed them to build facilities on top of them.
Americans never did a thing for you? You know, it's not like they helped rebuild the island after the war or anything like that. Or housed thousands of refugees who were without a place to live after the war. Also, IIRC you've said before that you're now married to US military correct? So that means you're collecting benefits paid out by the US military. So it appears that you're gaining quite a bit right now from the US military.

Not really Yuri. Are there too many military installations on Okinawa for it's size? Yes. I would even say it would be a good idea to move some of the military on Okinawa to mainland Japan. However, Okinawa is NOT under US military occupation. Occupation would be where the US military sets the law of the land, which it clearly doesn't. Claiming that Okinawa is under US military occupation is just anti-base fodder used to try and rile up support for their cause.

Yes yes, every year Japan blames China for smog and/or yellow dust. Get over it Japan, we know you hate China but it's time you stopped blaming everything on them. Meanwhile they've got a freaking nuclear dead zone in Fukushima, the government is buying and selling radioactive tainted rice, and TEPCO is wanting to restart the nations nuclear power plants. Nuclear power plants that sit in one of the most active seismic zones in the world.
While China does need to clean up it's act, Japan shouldn't be so quick to blame China for everything when they have their own environmental problems.

More than likely, they received that alcohol in care packages. I've seen moonshine hidden in Listerine bottles in care packages. But I agree with you, a ban on alcohol in Okinawa/Japan is not the answer. If anything it will have people sneaking around and taking more risks.

Oh Bertie, you'll use anything to spout your anti-base agenda won't you?
Anyone who has been on Okinawa for any amount of time knows that if the bases go, the land will probably sit undeveloped for decades. Then, when they do decide to develop, they will build shopping malls and pachinko parlors along with a few upscale housing areas. Then when they stop bringing in money, it will end up looking like ginowan on 58.
But I digress, good to see that some people are doing what they have to in order to get away from Fukushima. Not sure Okinawa would be the best choice job wise though.
