I've been hearing about this a lot on television and radio. I really sympathize with the school, it's a real damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Let's face it, these days if there's any possibility of physical injury to a child, schools are ripe for litigation.
While I don't in the least support the pope's stay, it's nice to see a lot of tourists around and enjoying themselves, if only it were for a healthier event.
From what I've seen, the Australian media and fans are more likely to discuss the strengths of the opposing teams whilst on various forums and such I only see Japanese fans speak about how much better their team is than anyone they oppose, and making weak excuses when they lose…
Quite a bit of Australia-hate going on here, I don't really understand the rivalry, just seems like unnecessary bitterness from Australia's world cup win.
I like both teams, it's be nice for both to make it through, of course I'll be cheering Australia on. That said, Japanese fans and media…
I'm not a great fan of Rudd, but I did enjoy the tone of his response about the accusations of favoring China. A mature yet forceful 'why are you whining'? Still I have doubts that he's much more than talk concerning whaling, or anything else.

It could easily have gone either way. For a while, though, I was unsure whether it would ever end.

That's pretty poor form. Still it's hard to picture worse coverage than Australia is getting at the moment.

It is too bad we don't have Thorpe with us this time, but the rest of the team is looking very strong.

This really is too bad. I have a pile of his books, 'One day in the life...' was fantastic.
