Well, for starters, I'm glad I live in the countryside far away from Tokyo, but really what's so bad about Tokyo Sky Tree? I bet no matter what the name or design of this tower it would recieve a majority of negative comments.
It seems to me the anti-whaling arguments contain more emotion than logic. It's just hunting. If it's sustainable and managed properly, it's a good source of food, therefore, a good activity.
