Viktor Bout has nothing on those evil arms dealers that is for sure.

More on Viktor Bout. It's quite obvious that what has happened to Mr. Bout weighs heavily on your mind. So why not go and really try and do something to help him?

Or if that is indeed hopeless then go after those "thriving bastard military arms contractors" instead.

    Very nice post Nicky.

We all make mistakes and hopefully we all learn from them. They're young and seemingly in love. Maybe they will indeed end up living happily ever after.

One good piece of advice I have heard many times in my life is to choose my battles. I know a losing horse when I see one.

Does it take a losing horse to know a losing horse?

Posting here and expressing an opinion is quite enough. And we have every right to do that without being cajoled for expression our opinion while not wasting time, money, and spirit on a hopeless errand. But just because the errand is hopeless, does not mean its not right.

Who said anything about this being hopeless? History is full of examples of those who did not give up when faced with incredible adversity. Like I said if you believe an incredible injustice is being done then get out there and help this man. How does expressing your opinion on a site like this help Mr. Bout?

SuperLibAPR. 07, 2012 - 10:23AM JST People could always contact groups who fight against wrongful convictions in the US. Just tell them to drop what they doing and help get the worlds most famous arms dealer freed on a technicality. Or you could align yourself with Russia and tell them you want to have a political prisoner freed. Be sure to use Viktor's name early in the letter or else they might assume you are talking about one of the hundreds of real political prisoners in Russia at which point they will toss the letter aside. If you are lucky he can get released, then picked up, tried, and convicted in an African court. The downside is that he probably won't be able to publish a book and might not survive for long. But if your beef is with jurisdiction then at least your outrage will be eased.

Agree 100%. If people are upset about this and feel it is unjust then they are more effective ways (other than posting on JT) to make their feelings known.

US citizens could write their Congressman or Senator. They could even write the White House. They could also write their local newspapers. Non-US citizens could do something similar by writing their respective governments or local media.

If that's still not enough for some then they could contribute financially to Mr. Bout's defense. If giving money is too hard then maybe they could volunteer their time in some way. There must be some group out their who is supporting Mr. Bout. I found one site that says you can contact Mr. Bout by email. Not sure if it's legitimate or not, but maybe Mr. Bout would appreciate knowing that some people around the world believe he is being unjustly victimized.

    http://www.viktorbout.net/contact-viktor/

You can even buy a t-shirt.

    http://www.viktorbout.net/viktor-bout-shirts-donate/

You could also go to this page and ask what you can do to help him. http://www.victorbout.com/index.htm

Or to this site and post messages of support (kind of old though)

    http://engforum.pravda.ru/index.php?/topic/221981-victor-bout-had-to-be-silencedhis-inside-knowledge-of-usa-illegal-covert-actions/

Really lots of things you can do if you feel so strongly that Mr. Bout is being unjustly treated.

Ivan CoughanoffalotAPR. 07, 2012 - 09:17PM JST Not a single smile anywhere on the picture again, I notice. Just following the herd.

Looks like they're concentrating on taking a good picture. Do you always smile when you take a picture?

But, maybe they could use some cheering up. Perhaps you should head down there and tell them they should stop following the heard and lighten up. After all, going by all of the things you post on JT, you are just one great big bundle of joy and sunshine.

Best of luck to them both.

" Oh Ryo, I thought you were much smarter than that. She's a smart girl though - knows that she won't have to lift a finger if she marries a cash cow - not stating she's a gold digger but she def benefits more from this than he does."

LOL! Good thing you just didn't come right out and state she's a gold digger.

It's not totally out of the realm of possibility that they are getting married because they love each other, is it?

Maybe Ryo's much smarter than you think. It sounds like they've been thinking for awhile which means they probably discussed with their families. He probably has also discussed it with his agent (legal team) and other support people as well.

But if you're really concerned about his well being, could always reach out and leave a comment for him on his FB page.

SuperLibAPR. 06, 2012 - 02:23PM JST You could get around the war zone issus by taking shots at Americans on US soil when they return from Columbia. Then you could accomplish both goals of staying away from FARC while killing soldiers who have spent time in Columbia. If you just want to support others who do the killing for you, then that can also be done by hiring someone to do the shooting, then supporting him in his defense in court. The point is that you have options. At the very least you'd be a symbol of how one American is doing everything he can to keep his country out of the dumpster.

See, SuperLib has given you some options. Plus, none of them sound like you need Calculus II. Just simple addition to count the money you pay to have others take the shots for you.

Sue, suggesting I do something so stupid as to go to a perpetual warzone and confront people who have it in for Americans is also being obnoxious.

Why worry if you're not military? Besides they just might have a soft spot for Americans who hate their own government and their own military to such a degree that they are willing to give their blessing to anyone who wants to take shots at the US military in Columbia.

How could they not like anyone like that? You don't even need to know Calculus I to figure that one out.

Yes! You turned "my blessing" into a harangue to pick up a gun and go do it myself. That is obnoxious crap.

I did also say that "If that's not your thing then maybe you could volunteer to become one of their PR people and help explain to the rest of the world what the real truth is."

So you could go to Columbia and help FARC to get the real truth out. Don't even go near a gun if don't want to. But, you could give your blessing (in person) those that decide to take a shot. You could even sell the t-shirts there.

    Sue_Rowell

Why do you have to hand me that sort of obnoxious crap?

Obnoxious crap? You obviously have strong feelings on the matter. It just seems you'd be able to do more good in Columbia getting the real truth out then just posting on a site like this. I say you should go for it. I'll even help pitch in for airfare. Just need to know where to send the money.

You should create a website so that others willing to help out can also do so. Maybe even print up some t-shirts saying "Anyone that wants to shoot at U.S. military in Columbia most certainly have my my blessing". Probably could sell enough of 'em to cover your travel costs and then some.

Speaking of t-shirts, I'm sure one saying "If I could just throw my government and military in the dumpster, I could burst with pride!" would be a huge seller not only in the US but worldwide. I think you'd definitely make enough to retire on and probably even enough to even send some to help resolve the situation in Columbia.

Anyone that wants to shoot at U.S. military in Columbia most certainly have my blessing.

You could probably catch a plane to Columbia if you want and give them your blessing in person. I'm sure they'd appreciate the support. You could even take a few shots yourself. If that's not your thing then maybe you could volunteer to become one of their PR people and help explain to the rest of the world what the real truth is.

If I could just throw my government and military in the dumpster, I could burst with pride!

After you finish straightening things out in Columbia, you could head up to DC and kick some butts there as well. Overthrow the government and throw the bums out. Might be a little tricky at first but I'm sure you'll find a way.

JeffLeeAPR. 03, 2012 - 06:56AM JST I wonder what "early" means? Noon? Or 6 p.m. LOL. And I wonder how many employers will comply.

Think it's suppose to start getting bad around 3.

Since it's only an advisory, I guess it depends on the company.

My train doesn't run along the coast so hopefully there will not be any problems getting home.

Ivan CoughanoffalotMAR. 29, 2012 - 12:29PM JST I'd love to see your evidence for that, sport. This picture is another great example of how terrified Japanese are to speak to each other. I'll bet you a pound to a penny there were hundreds of people wanting to take a quick break in that little green area - I know that place well, used to work upstairs from it - and not a single one of them had the guts to confront any one of the inconsiderate smokers who were flouting the regulation with complete disregard for anybody else. Also observe the diligent turning away from the sign. This is the daily ritual of "If I don't make eye contact with it, it doesn't exist" which prevents so many from offering their seat to the pregnant, the elderly or the infirm on public transport. Ask any Japanese what the qualities are which typify the Japanese character, and I guarantee you they'll say "We Japanese must consider the people around us, and not only think of ourselves. We should behave in a way that others will judge favourably" (or words to that effect). And the picture above demonstrates very clearly just how much hogwash and doublethink that credo is.

You seem to have some pretty strong feelings on this. Maybe you should head over to that station and tell all the Japanese smokers just how unacceptable their behavior is. You should have no problem finding it since you "know that place well."

I'm sure when you worked over there you spent countless moments of your time trying to set such people straight. Maybe all they really need is for somebody such as yourself to come along (again) and simply explain to them the right way to do things. You could make eye contact with them and let them know their hogwash and doublethink credo is no longer acceptable in this day and age.

Nicky WashidaFEB. 16, 2012 - 09:51AM JST I modelled in the early 90s. I had to do a lingerie shoot once (I was 20) in a big warehouse kind of place with workmen upstairs constantly leering through the bars of the stairs and cracking obscene jokes. It was really humiliating and the photographer and lighting crew all seemed to be thinking it was a great joke. Even my agent (female) was just standing there letting it all happen. I quit right after that. I couldnt even handle it as a grown adult so God knows how a young teenage girl would.

Ha, ha, ha. Not laughing at what you wrote. It's just that as I was reading it the add in the right banner of the page was of a young woman modelling a bra and panties. Totally weird. :b
