sfjp330, Toyota gave themselves their own black eye by tripping on their dicks when handling the sudden acceleration issue. Right or wrong, there is a perception about quality now and they will have to win the consumer back. Detroit has made great strides in the last 20 years with quality but I doubt you go and correct anyone who says anything differently, and my guess is that the ratio of Detroit bashers to Toyota bashers hovers somewhere around 100:1. You really have nothing to worry about.

I can't say I know a lot about the configuration, but I've read the Trident II on an Ohio class sub has up to 12 warheads, and the sub itself can carry 24 missiles, so that would be a total of 288 warheads on one submarine, assuming it was configured as such. It's not always a "how many times do you need to blow up the world" situation, it's usually a "how many different delivery vehicles do you feel comfortable with". Throw in land based missiles and bombers and in order to have multiple safeguards there will be a minimum number of required vehicles. You don't want to be in a situation where sinking a few subs wipes out half of the US's nuclear deterrent.

If there is no link to the Iranian government then that's saying the government cannot stop it. Given the fact that we've seen plots in 4 countries it's worrisome to think that there is a large, well financed group of Iranians looking to start a war between Iran and Israel that no one can control.

Santorum making his way to the top is good news for Obama. Unfortunately, it won't last long. The religious folk always come out and vote strong in the beginning, but once one of their candidates appears to have a shot the regular folk get them out of the picture pretty quickly. But if the feud between Republicans can drag out longer than it already has I'm all for it. Having Romney alone at the top criticizing Obama isn't ideal.

Not very smart for Iran to export their war against Israel onto foreign soil. But it wouldn't be the first time.

Please, do tell about the region. I'm especially interested in hearing about the meddling of Russia and Europe, and of course the damage Middle Eastern countries have done to each other.

Oh, I think the Middle East has been doing just fine creating a long and bloody history on its own. Not that you would care.

On one side you have a bunch of idiots in the government who are out of touch with what downloading is and are believing just about everything the corporations tell them. On the other you have people who don't seem to get that piracy is a problem and stealing is stealing no matter what justification you think you have.

12 hours seems like a pretty silly range of time since someone who last smoked 12 hours before wouldn't still be feeling it. It makes the stat mostly useless.

He might be talking about the guy who the Canadians had picked up by the US and sent overseas. That was the evidence that Canada was using rendition....but using the US to do it for them. With Canadian officials in Iraq and Gitmo, now this story, Canadians might have to wonder if they've been fed a steady stream of BS from their government that they bought hook, line, and sinker. And they would have to ask if their zeal to go after their brothers down South played right into the government's hands.

What's next is most likely continued sanctions and pressure with the ultimate goal of stripping the Iranian government with the ability to function financially. The measures have been set in motion but the harshest ones have not. More scientists will probably be killed. More pressure will be placed on Syria in order to remove an Iranian ally from the region. At that point Iran can either return to the negotiating table and agree to handle their nuclear program in a transparent way, or they could go nuclear. If they go nuclear you're going to see many more countries publicly speaking out about Iran at which point they become even more isolated.
If a shooting was does start it will begin with cyber warfare, and Iran will most likely start with terrorism. That's to say the boots on the ground are a long ways off, if they are even needed at all.
