Two degrees. Like with the human body, if the planet’s average temperature increases by just that amount, all havoc breaks loose – mass extinctions (already started with many species), ocean currents change (the Arctic ice melt will have a major effect on this, perhaps even make parts of Europe uninhabitable), areas become unliveable and crops ungrowable.

It pays to educate yourself, eh unreconstructed. :-)

All this climate change "hype" is damaging to the economy and takes away jobs because in Climate Change Denier World, jos and economies don't depend on the resources that are being steadily depleted by climate change and population growth.

Climate Change Denier World rocks because we get to wear new rose-tinted glasses every day - wow!

I'm sure if I cover my ears firmly enough like a Global Warming Denier I can pretend climate change isn't happening and that it's all only a scheme cooked up by the treehuggers to swindle us all and take away our freedoms!!

As I said yesterday, many conservatives can’t seem to tell the difference between a book tour and a presidential run.

unreconstructed - "Nothing to do with Cain's demise but I suddenly find myself a little more interested in Huntsman."

Could I ask why it has taken you so long to figure this out?

Most libs saw months ago that Huntsman was the only capable one in the pack - and that the rest were basically a raving bunch of nutters.

And yet, had March 11 not happened, Fukushima people would be more than happy to live with nuclear plants and receiving their payments from TEPCO.

As they have done for around 4 decades.

Bottom line is: What is going to replace them?

Can’t help feeling sorry for the Cons.

Good luck finding a candidate to field against the President.

"backers who are ignoring the most recent charge of a 13-year extramarital affair."

Looks like the conservative pro-adultery vote is being split betwen Newt and Cain although on pure numbers alone, it appears Cain leaves Newt in the dust.

Meanwhile the conservative/GOP 2012 election cycle death wish rolls on.....

WilliB - "Next, they´ll be smearing Newt"

There's no need. These GOP twits are destroying themselves.

Clearly, they have no overall party-wide strategy to win. It's a free-for-all circle shootout.

Laguna - "Mitt will win the nomination, of course, but who does he have as an understudy? Which of these candidates can conceivably run in 2016?"

Perhaps none. Perhaps a completely new suit that they'll pull out of the woodwork.

But can anyone else possibly be any worse than this current rapidly dwindling crop of no-hopers?

Looking at conservative/GOP actions to date, I'd bet money they an find someone ever dumber.....

Amazing - you couldn't write this stuff. :-).

I just read that an ad put out by the Conservatives4Palin group pleads with part-time Alaskan governor/serial quitter Sarah Palin to "Run Sarah Run!"

    Heck, I hope she does.

She’d only bury the conservative brand even deeper than conservatives are doing themselves. :-)

This election cycle really is a shocker. The GOP is like a soccer team where everyone shoots themselves in the head before kickoff.

Unreal and hilarious at the same time.

The wheels of yet another GOP candidacy fall off and the whole train wreck slams into the wall.

Michelle Bachmann – gone. Rick Perry – who?

It will be very interesting to see whether any of Cain’s supporters go to Romney, or whether Newt gets a boost.

Anyway, both hypotheses are irrelevant at this point – Obama has this election in the bag.

    Two points:

1/ This election may actually be cheaper than expected if the GOP people wipe each other out before the election even begins, a scenario that is - amazingly - looking more likely by the hour.

2/ I may have to eat my words: All the losers are being weeded out and culled. This is leaving the sensible conservatives who would actually be respectable leaders of America. I’m talking of Jon Huntsman, a candidate whose level-headedness, intelligence and skills have been simply too frightening and alien to most conservative voters..until perhaps now.

I feel sorry mainly for Cain's wife but also for his staff.

His past indescretions are like limpet mines going off under their ship.

Message conservatives: **stop supporting this guy. **Every day you do drags your name and the conservative brand through the mud.

The shock and awe is really hitting home in the conservative camp right about now.

They do not have a single credible candidate.

I would hate to wake up one morning and have that dawn on me if I were a conservative.

Sadly for conservatives, they themselves are responsible for this laughing stock of a lineup.

Conservatives support these people and conservatives put these candidates where they are now.

These candidates are a reflection of the mainstream ideas and attitudes of modern American conservatives.

And they are all a complete bunch of no-hopers.

    How sad is that???

Farmboy - "Because the Democrats are sending all their money to the Cain campaign, hoping he's the competition that Obama has to beat."

    He's beating himself.

Dems/libs just have to sit, watch and laugh, and believe me - we are. :-)

T_rexmaxytime - "Did you guys forget how China used trade power tactics last year and banned rare earth metal to Japan?"

Could that just possibly be because China owns about 95% of them?

What’s wrong with doing what they want with what they own?

    Is that a crime?

Perhaps the US needs to first explain why they have 11??"

ihrwjns - You're talking "Apples" and "Oranges" here...

So, you're saying that aircraft carriers are somehow different from other ...aircraft carriers?

How exactly is a that so?

Biggest challenge the Dems face in this election cycle is how long will they have to sit through Obama's victory speech. :-)

Soon, it'll be a huge faux pas if a GOP presidential candidate doesn't have a book tour going at the same time they are "running for president."

Because it's pretty clear what their real ambitions are, and it ain't to move in to the WH.

Non-Caucasians might laugh at how rabbits and chocolate eggs ever became associated with Easter, a commemoration of a murder 2000 odd years ago.

But most of us never think to question it.
