Ben_JackinoffNov - "Wow, I did not realize there had been some sort of trial and that he was found guilty."

There wasn't and he hasn't. But thanks for making it up. :-)

"Could you please provide a source for this big scoop?"

    Scroll up.

NetNinja - "I really really feel sorry for this guy. They are making an example out of him and a message to any African-American wishing to be President that this is how they'll bring you down."

It's amazing that some people can think like this.

The guy made a mistake. OK, 4 mistakes and counting.

Now he's getting the rap. There is nothing racial in that.

It's just news because he is in the news right now. If he was a nobody a regular joe company, this wouldn't be news at all.

    Today it's the 'Democrat machine'?

    Who was he blaming yesterday?

Was that who he was blaming the day before?

This guy is a one-man comedy show. LOL! :-)

And there's some conservatives out there who take him seriously. I don't know what's funnier, ha ha ha. :-)

    Spidapig24,

SushiSake4 - "SAY HELLO TO MORE DROUGHTS, FLOODS AND WATER AND FOOD SHORTGAGES!!!"

Spidapig24 - "Yeah sure can you please explain how introducing ANOTHER tax is going to stop any of that."

No, you've got things completely backwards. It's largely carbon usage that is causing these events.

Spidapig24 - "And its equally amazing to see those tree huggers are still clinging to their "take us back to the stone age all was so much better then" ideals."

Again, you've got things completely backwards. Most environmentalists/greenies/tree-huggers want to harness 21st century energy technology - wind, solar, wave, ocean current tech. It's the consevatives like yourself who want to maintain a deathgrip on oil based on blinded attitudes and shonky science.

Spidapig24 - "The fact is people who support this idea want nothing more than an end to business, and life as we know it otherwise why else would they support a tax that is going to make everyday essentials so expensive and out of some peoples reach."

Again, flat out wrong. The "people who support this idea" want a sustainable future.

    Period.

Continue with the status quo and we'll have more pollution and no viable solutions.

And a key point that people like yourselves often miss is that business depends on a continued supply of resources. Just look at how the floods in Thailand have tripled prices for many computer parts here in Japan, and stymied production at many (submerged) manufacturing plants.

Ignoring future sustainability of resources (as most climate change deniers readily do) will have major negative ramifications on business.

The "end to business, and life as we know it " will be far more likely to come due to the attitudes of people like yourself who appear to have no serious interest in the future sustainability of critical resources.

You just want to make a quick buck and protect your pocketbook now. Stuff the future!

Spidapig24 - "Could it be that climate change is like the seasons it comes and goes"

Arhgh..the "it's all cyclical" argument. Lovin' it. :-) It often comes up.

Have you seen a chart of global carbon emmissions? There's NOTHING cyclical about the exponential rise we are seeing.

Spidapig24 - "Oh and one more question SushiSake3 all these billions of dollars collected how exactly are they going to stop your dreaded climate change?"

They probably won't. What they will and can do is help mitigate the effects.

But you seem to have way more interest in denial than you do in your future, it seems.

This is a bold move from a sensible group of politicians who are putting people before profits.

Not just people, but the health and wellbeing of future generations.

Darrin - "SAY NO TO CARBON FOOTPRINT TAX!!!"

SAY HELLO TO MORE DROUGHTS, FLOODS AND WATER AND FOOD SHORTGAGES!!!

Amazing to see the climate change deniers still spouting Stone Age ideas.

The world is getting warmer, this is a proven fact, and it's best we realize this and work to mitigate the already-occuring climatic events rather than do what Spidapig24 and Darrin would probably have us do and hide in a cave and pretend it's not happening.

So we have the most heavily bankrupt nation in the developed world using money it doesn't have to purhcase bonds placed on the market by other bankrupt countries who have next to no chance of paying the money back.

And you wonder why leaders of developed nations keep talking up confidence in their economies....?

Because without investor confidence, a tipping point of people will realize that global financial markets are running purely on IOUs..

Sailwind seems to be yet another on the Right who would rather wish this woman would just shut the heck up.

I agree with another poster above - Cain never had a chance anyway.

Funnily enough, none of the conservative candidates do and that's GREAT news for America. :-)

As conservatives have made clear time and time again, they simply want to repress their women, take away their rights to decide what is best for their bodies and otherwise subjugate females.

No doubt those same conservatives will lash out en masse at this woman.

    Watch and wait.

How about conservatives - once - just once - you start searching for the truth instead of dismissing this woman's claims to satisfy your anti-women ideogical beliefs?

WilliB - "Witch hunt. Will the press show any enthusisam in checking the background of this accuser who pops out of the woodwork at such convenient moment, and her lawyer? I am not holding my breath."

As I said on a similar thread last night, conservatives are now falling over themselves to try a muzzle this story.

Conservatives never let the truth prevent them from standing up for their patently corrupt ideology.

The more Cain stonewalls the American people from the truth, the worse it's going to get.

Heh, and there's been some conservatives on these Cain threads screaming that attacks on Cain are "racist." It's incredible that these people actually pretend to take themselves seriously.

Cain is like a boxer who suddenly turns on himself and repeatedly punches himself and his coach in the head. Pretty much the story of the entire GOP-TP, it would seem......

Simply amazing to see conservatives on this thread trying to shut down all talk about yet another one of their own dearly beloved embroiled in yet another dodgy scandal.

As Fadamor correctly stated, the only reason a confidentiality clause would be signed in a case like this is to shut someone up from leaking damaging information.

While decent individuals would actually be interested to find out whether or not this particular presidential candidate is playing above board, conservatives are falling over themselves to smother the truth from getting out, while internally, the ones with a shred of a conscience are shrieking ‘Not another one!?’

One of the fundamental rules of crisis management - get in front of the cameras and talk.

    Cain doesn't have a clue.

Heh, finally, possibly the first conservative on JT to realize the ugly truth - that it's all over for the GOP even before it starts.

I'll give you that one. Smart you are. :-)
