Internment of Japanese citizens was hardly an action that just the United States took. Canada and other nations did the same thing. In fact life in the Canadian camps was much harder.

It was one crime scene investigator in the house when the TV was taken from the yard. Unless the police department is now issuing an extra set of eyes for the back of the investigator's head, there is not much he could have done about it.
