I think you have a very good point there. Many of the changes that would be necessary to encourage more births would be changes that would support a woman’s ability to work and to continue to work after giving birth.
We were young, poor, and hungry (didn't fit the age/salary chart that would provide enough for us to have hope for a better future), so we stopped. We left Japan and only came back when we could finally afford it.
Maybe JT could sponsor a survey... How many kids do you plan to have?, and for those answering less than three... What would it take for you to have one more?
I had heard that before, at least as far as crosswalks are involved, but in my search for the applicable Road Traffic Law, could not confirm this. Are you sure that this is in the law?
