To see photos of these magnificent dolls, you can google "Friendship dolls (plus) Asian Art Museum (plus) poetic shutterbug".

Thank you. I saw the photos. They are beautiful.

This doll looks like the one my mother gave to me when I was small. Of course it's not an antique or anything, but the kimono was hand made especially for her. Maybe I will try to get her some accessories for the dolls festival next year.

Too bad they don't have any pictures of these dolls. It is nice to hear friendly sort of news now and then.

Disillusioned, DentShop probably I would though every room may have been an exaggeration. Web Cams are easy to come by and cheap, you could download recording devices on-line. You may not get full coverage of kids running around, but a baby taking a nap would be easy.

Something to share the parents so that they get their IYASHI ;)

BTW, are you serious about 680yen/hour? Wow, that is more like volunteer work.

If I were one of the 52 welfare workers, I would install a security camera in every room, place the children might use to show the parents that nothing fishy is going on. These things can happen, but it would take time and effort to actually prove innocence. I wouldn't wan't to take any chances, especially with law suits and monster parents being so popular these days...

Why do so many food/drinks sold here have bloody TEA in them!?

Maybe because... the people like them?

Another could be because it sounds healthier. Even though it's covered in fattening honey and chocolate.

Carver shows up now and then in "talento" athletic events on TV. I like his character in the white family.

I think we are supposed to comment on how beautiful these birds look, rather than the quality of the picture... but yes, I've seen better pictures.

I hope they don't catch the bird flu.

Wow, everyone here loves Costco. I don't think I'm an exception.

I've been a lot of the stores around Kanto area as they were built. First Makuhari, a bit frustrating because of the two story built. Then Tama-sakai (Machida), this place is very convenient but since it's opening a lot of stores opened on the same street so the traffic is caos! Good thing they changed the exit of the store so that the traffic light can be used to go out to the right, where there is less traffic.

The Kawasaki store's parking lot is weird because cars are going all over the place. It's pretty confusing 'til you get the hang of it. Here, they have the worst food court which is way too small to fit the weekend crowd. Maybe they should put up high tables where people can eat standing. They already do, keeping their food on top of the huge garbage bins!. Carts are in the way too. Finally the one in Yokohama, which is my favorite. A bit far from where I live, but it's a bit calmer than Kawasaki.

Reading this over, what am I? A costco freak? No, I just love cheap and big, not to mention quality. Quality-wise, I only had one problem which was with a huge barrel of detergent which didn't blend good with my washing machine. I ended up having to shake and melt them with hot water before putting it in the washing machine.

Finally, I have one thing to ask. Can you import some Reese's peanut butter cups?

There was a similar incident in Yokohama last week. This baby was also found without clothing near some apartment, but was lucky enough to be found shortly after he was abandoned. Now this one is found dead. How can human beings come up with such cruel ideas?

Yeah, the tennis players may have all the security, but how about the crowd watching? Or the staff? Dead passengers are not really exaggeration...

My husband had one of these, but it was stolen from our apartment.

Around 4 years later the police recovered it, but it was in such a poor condition, we asked them to scrap it. Poor thing.

This must be the same article, but the last one suggested beef (as in quote below). This says chicken.

Hmm... should we blame the chickens now?

The lunch included potato miso soup, komatsuna leaf salad and Japanese radish with ground meat, the officials said.

I can't seem to understand the fuss either. Am I missing something?

I have no problem doing all the paperwork by my married name but still go by my birth name at work. The post office still delivers in both my names, my colleagues call me by the name whichever is convenient... no problem at all.

A few couples around me decided to go by the wife's surname for some reason such as inheritance or them being an only child. They do not have any issues either.

If marriage is an outdated institution why bother? They can just be living together as partners but can still benifit as common-laws or defactos or whatever they call it.

I can't stand it when my husband swears/complains to himself but we can still hear it. If you have a problem with something we did of isn't doing, why not confront us (me, my kids) directly? Muttering to yourself does not improve anything.

It's been on the news today that K-pop has more "legal wrangles" coming.

Will it be the end of Kara? Or will they settle the matter peacefully to get their act together again?

I don't know how FOREIGN the groupon branch in Japan was, but there is one thing Japan can't tolerate and that's rituals gone bad. If this was catering for a wedding reception or some ordinary dinner deal this wouldn't have caused so much damage. At least it would be an isolated case.

But it's OSECHI we're talking about here. For those who enjoy this, it's the most important and expensive meal of the year. Some mother's or daugher-in-law's reputation depends on it being perfect. Or close enough so that people can laugh about it.

I don't know how "capacity planning" can save their reputation, but good luck to them.

    Smithinjapan: "They aren't always complicated"

I would agree if I were in the States or somewhere, but it's Japan, and blood is pretty important. As you say, if some people can't even love their own child, how can people expect to have a stranger (non-blood relative) love them 100%?

I still don't know the details of this article, so I'm not thinking as far as DS, but it's bugging me...

Are we supposed to talk about how weird Starbuck's new logo looks?

I saw a web site with parody logos like Please BUY (BEST BUY) and faded looking Xerox (ran out of ink?). They looked better than the originals :)
