I don't know the scooters but the battery for my electric bicycle only lasted a year. You can still recharge it after that, but the power isn't the same. Now, I would have to pitch in another 35,000 yen... when the bicycle itself was 80,000 yen.
I asked Yamaha's service guys if this was normal, and they said "YES"!

I have seen a couple of bull fights including the ones in San Fermin, but the passion of the spectators and the seriousness of the fight makes me forget the idea that it could be (or probably is) cruel to these animals.
I don't think the ban will spread all over spain, but it's a huge step forward.
Some of the matadors are pretty good looking btw.

I have quite a few CCs now, each separately offering things like double points, free parking, bargains, coupons, cheaper gas, etc. Most have no annual fees except for my JAL gold, which comes in handy when travelling like seesaw's ANA card.
My main card is saison, because I like their point system. You can accumulate points from several Saison CCs. The percentage may not be very high, but it's just something extra. I got my i-pod nano, air purifier, cutlery and other odd items like hair dryer for free :)
Trouble is, that I use it so much that the card itself gets worn down too often. That's another reason to carry few other cards.

paulinusa, what part of the article did you not understand?
It's simply saying that Tokyo wants another go at the bid for hosting the Olympics. You'll soon see their campaigns in every sports event using taxpayer's money.

Here we go again.... so what's the story this time? Let's see...
J-news reports that the the boy and his sister lived away from their parents. Granny was acutally raising the kids. They had a couple of arguments before.
I guess she couldn't handle her grandson's hankouki very well...

Referee standards were the worst, but I guess it's part of the game.
Who knows, God may actually be watching and putting his hands here and there...!

When you think of how the "family" is important in Japan, blood and all, I think it's natural for Japan to have it's citizens choose whichever family name (husband's or wife's) when getting married.
Now that these "families" are corrupting, I guess Japan needs to change their system to catch up with the real world...

About time! My company has foreign managers all over the world, but not once have I seen an internal document written only in English.
That really sucks, but that's where I come in, so I can't complain much.

Boy, this game was exiting! Good work, Japan!!!
I think everyone will agree that the MVP of this game is Honda. He made possible, all three goals.

Yes, it's far too low compared to other countries. UK is planning on going to 20%. WOW!
I hope they implement different tax rates on food and other household goods though.

I love these origamis.
I played around with my serviette on a plane once, and the CA (American) offered me a free drink if I can make a couple for his children.
A good way to communicate, anywhere.

I can't seem to find any sport that's exiting anymore...
I used to enjoy watching baseball and hockey (GO! LEAFS! GO!). Maybe it's because I don't have the time now to know the players.
Boring sports? That will be a one-sided tennis game.

Next you will have these robots in pre-mommy classes. After a couple of months, the teachers will be receiving questions like,

I kind of envied those who were breastfeeding longer until babies were like older than one. I gave up pretty early because of complications. But my babies are fairly bright, so I guess I made the perfect formula! ;)
It's really funny here in Japan. I mentioned that old ladies think pain in labour makes mothers superior, but this mentality is somehow inherited by the younger generation as well. I was speaking to a mother the other day, she actually laughed at how C-section mothers don't know anything about labour and how she "proudly" had to go through this immense pain for like 15 hours. Yeah, yeah.
