I remember those two guys Kawamura and Sato. They put those poor women each in a 55-gallon drum and set them on fire. Can you imagine the terror and pain the victims went through. Oh wait, I'm not supposed to care about the victims. Come on liberal posters start whining about poor Kawamura and Sato and how the state has no right to mete out capital punishment as justice.

Everytime I see a picture of Ahmadinejad, he reminds me of a NYC taxi driver -- probably he smells the same, too.
We should delivery a written apology taped to a cruise missile containing a nuclear warhead...

This news report (and the US reports) do not tell the whole story. A large corporation like Kaiser Permanente has a long evaluation/review procedure for all personnel separations. If they were just fired, they were involved in some sort of illegal/unlawful activity. In most US firms it would take at least a year to fire someone due to poor performance reviews and being a minority, they would usually throw money at them to leave in order to avoid any hint of discrimination. Unfortunately, we will never know the circumstances of their dismissal in this case.

ANA is great if you are a double amputee. In Economy Class it has at least 1 inch less leg room than United. I'm only 5'10" and my knees hit the back of the seat in front of my on ANA, whereas there is at least an inch of room in United Economy Class. Its easy to throw a little more video entertainment on the TV -- ask them to pull a few rows of seats out to extend the room by an inch in Economy Class and they will say "Japanese have short legs, the added room is not needed." So what that are basically doing is giving foreign customers the finger...

Americans don't believe in sharing the pain. Japan has the right idea--when things get tough cut everyone's salary. Gov. Arnold is trying to get Cal State employees to accept a two-day furlough in lieu of layoffs, but has so far met strong resistance from the unions. The all-or-nothing mentality is what's the problem in America.

Economic Stimulus Payment
This year, taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment. This is a very exciting new program that I will explain using the Q and A format:
Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment? A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.
Q. Where will the government get this money? A. From taxpayers.
Q. So the government is giving me back my own money? A. Only a smidgen.
Q. What is the purpose of this payment? A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set or a new computer, thus stimulating the economy.
Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China ? A. Shut up.

Need I remind some of the posters, this is a news website that also promotes discussion, comments and criticism of articles and persons herein. Open criticism (of anybody - Empress and Meryl included) is one of the foundations of free speech -- you can choose to ignore the comments you don't like or debate them.
Moderator: We will remind the posters, not you. Please stay on topic.

Al Sharpton would be better than C.K. at least he would do something. She would have spent all her time at the nail manicurist and hairstylist when she was not writing poetry books. If she is so politically motivated, why doesn't she move back to Mass. and take over uncle Ted "Chappaquiddick" Kennedy's seat which will be vacant pretty soon...

He has to pace himself; its a marathon, not a sprint... I'm sure Obama sees the bigger picture in so many ways. I have a feeling that he has to show Americans (even the ones who profess to be color blind) that he is up for the job. He will be judged on his character and not his color to paraphrase MLK...

The only thing that's possible is that he and his family are going to have nice digs for four years. A year from now Gitmo will still be open, the wars in Iraq and Afganistan will still be in the news AND the dollar will have plummeted to the mid 70's to the yen to pay all the waste-of-money social programs.

So Buddha do you think Obama is going to curtail the war? Think not. You are probably too young to remember how Johnson did it with Vietnam. Quietly debased our currency to pay for a war and almost a trillion dollars for his social programs -- most of which failed. As you and others pointed out, the Treasury is empty, so Bush and now Obama has no option but to print money. Fortunately, all the other world currencies are in the dumper and the safest one is the greenback, so Obama can turn the printer speed dial to HIGH...

Just wait until Obama turns the government printing presses into high gear to pay for all the spending programs -- I expect the yen to shoot up to 75 due to the devaluation of the dollar...
