If you do not think I am correct look at some of the posts made by some here.

Well, see, I live in China, and truth be told, while his type exists, I often don't run into it. Remember those 'riots' against the west in China during the torch rely for the Olympics? Believe it or not, they were relatively small, and people still poured into the foreign supermarkets and stores on a daily basis. Chinese love their country, but not so many are so vocal or take such confrontational stances in their words such as the poster noted.

Actually the truth is, many Chinese are all words, but when it comes down to act, they usually don't. So you might have some Chinese poster heralding the doom of the west if they don't 'beware the Dragon', and the same said poster is likely quite the timid person in actuality. Behold the power of Internet Anonymity.

But lets really be honest with ourselves here. Ever read the comments of posters at say foxnews.com or any other 'patriotic' American website. You'd be surprised how similar these kinds of comments are. The difference is, the U.S. is the one invading countries at the moment, China isn't.

if an objective filmmaker would make a movie about it i would not mind.

What do you consider objective? Non-Chinese only?

Bamboohat:Japan can't very well distance themselves from their own emperor, so their only real choice is to pretend nothing happened.

Of course, in the same way, the Chinese government/Chinese people often pretend nothing happened in the last 60 years in their own country, because they can't seperate themselves from their own government. I see no difference really.

it was indeed showing the Chinese government wasnt appeasing japan anymore,

Of course they're appeasing Japan. They've been appeasing Japan since Deng Xiaoping, and they'll continue to do so for the time being. This movie will make Chinese shed a couple tears and feel angry for a week, and then they'll go on with life as if nothing happened. Chinese nationalism always ocurs in short, strong burts, and then dissapates into nothing.

The government just has to raise an eyebrow and people have to goto the movie, they dont have a choice in China.

Is that what you honestly think?

Say Hello to JoeBigs, the one-trick Pony. Come on over to Tianjin, Joe. It's real nice here. I'll even buy you a nice big bottle of baijiu. It's ok...China doesn't bite.

News Flash-Atrocties in WWII Happened...some were even committed by Japanese. Defending them is pathetic.

I have no objections about a Christmas tree being called a Christmas Tree. I don't mind being wished Merry Christmas. I do mind having Christianity forced on me at every turn. (I did spend a fair amount of time in the US.) This is why I like Christmas in Japan. There is just enough to feel festive but not so much as to feel assaulted.

    It's. A. Christian. Holiday.

Duh. There is no such thing as a movie that you can't get in China. This will only stop a small number of people form seeing it. Otherwise if they want to see it, they'll see it.

I don't know anybody state side who wants to buy anything from China.

That's funny. I'm sure they do it all the time. Somehow 99% of Chinese imports seem to work just fine. Of course, everyone will notice once there's a problem.

Don't worry, heads will roll, and peace will be restored to the galaxy.

Heh, too bad my uncle didn't survive it, well, not entirely. Survived the march, and then found himself on the wrong end of a Japanese officer's sword. I can only imagine what kind of hell that march was.
