“As I look around at the millions of Americans without work, the graduates who can’t get a job, the soldiers who return home to an unemployment line, it breaks my heart,” he said.

From Mitt's perspective, that's thousands of people he could have fired himself but missed the chance.
I can see why he's taking it so hard.

Back room shenanigans at the New Sanno Hotel do not speak for the whole of the US military.

HAH! Yeah, I almost forgot about ramen threatening me with bribing Marines with booze to beat me up. Total loser move.

As for the nabbing of Bin Laden, it just completely and utterly has the right wing's underwear in a bunch. They want to paint him as weak on terror, bad at foreign policy and wishy-washy.

What did he do? He nailed the guy, their dear leader decided wasn't worth it anymore, and gave Americans a sense of justice that their dear leader failed to do.

bush never stood up to the plate. He'd run the bases but he never made it to the batter's box. He was a designated pinch runner.

Obama batted clean-up and cleared the bases with a grand slam home run.

Not only did we finally get the guy that the dear leader had declared wasn't worth it anymore. We did it with style. No lazy shock and awe approach that would ensure tons of collateral damage. Nope. President Obama just took the leash off the SEALS and they kicked butt, without a single U.S. injury, let alone casualty.

That, ladies and gentlemen, was a Commander-in-Chief making the right call.

Obama's success has my boy so fraught that he's down to one personality here at JT. He's not even trying to agree with himself anymore via different handles.

Obama Derangement Syndrome is a hell of a thing.

“Congress and I have certainly had our differences. Yet, I’ve tried to be civil, to not take any cheap shots and that’s why I want to especially thank all the members who took a break from their exhausting schedule of not passing any laws to be here tonight."

You see, that's funny. Why can't republicans be funny on purpose? They are only funny when they are trying not to be.

Remember when w tried to be funny at the "nerd prom" with his "Nope, no WMDs in here" video. That wasn't funny. That was at the expense of the U.S. military.

Can you even imagine Mitch McConnell telling a joke? He can barely speak in public.

And how long did the conservative "comedy" show last? It was the direct polar opposite of comedy. Didn't even make it through a season.

You know, they say a sense of humor is a sign of intelligence.

Seated at the same table were reality television star Kim Kardashian and actress Lindsay Lohan.

In the inverted pyramid of news writing, this is below the bottom. I can't believe the editor let it stand. It adds nothing to the story. But...tabloid journalism is the only kind we have in America so I guess it makes sense.

Romney "tweak" his strategy? He's going to be wildly scrambling for the middle after pandering to all the mouth breathers in the republican party. Bob Dole is going to do a hell of a lot more than just "tweak."

Growing up in a very conservative, Missouri-Synod Lutheran community and church, exposure to new styles of music was limited. One of the few places a kid from Northern Minnesota (pre-cable) who lived Juuust outside FM radio range could find and listen to new styles of music and see new fashions and diverse people (diversity where I was from was you were Norweigan, Swedish, or Finnish. That was the diversity. My family filled the state's Irish quota (yes, they were cops). Bandstand offered real diversity.

And the music...WOW! Mind blowing, to say the least.

Dick Clark owned American Bandstand. No one was hipper than Dick. He was my reason for the weekend. I learned a lot about music from Dick Clark. I think a lot of us did.

Just another log on the "only in Japan" fire. And I mean that in the kindest way possible. That's the great thing about Japan, who needs drugs? it's just weird. You just go outside, look around and think about what you're seeing, and you're altered.

    Boy do I miss it.

    The Truth Matters

Islam is not a race, nor is it relevant to this thread.

But it is something that is, by and large, non-caucasion and therefore, your mortal enemy.

There's this recording, of a phone call, made to the police, by a guy in this story in which he states his observation that the guy in the hoodie (who "looks black" - not "is black") looks like he is on drugs.

What does "looks like he is on drugs" look like from a distance? Well, I know YOUR answer. I'm just curious. I can pretty much so determine if someone is high or not by looking at their eyeballs. That's really the only way that I know how to tell if someone is high. Apparently George is a lot more experienced with drugs than I am. He can spot someone on drugs from a great distance. Respect. Couldn't exactly tell the race of Trayvon, but could tell that he was high. I'm not sure how he was able to pull off that bit of magic but George Zimmerman's magic throughout this case makes David Copperfield look like a rank amateur.

Did I tell you I have this kick-ass bridge in Brooklyn? Me and the wife are looking at builiding a new house in Tateyama and would like to free up some cash. I'll sell it to you dirt cheap.

I think its kind of simple-minded to think that outlawing guns is actually going to deter a criminal in the US from obtaining a single working firearm from the roughly 65 million or so handguns out there. Even if such laws are enacted hundreds of armed trespassers from the failed narco-state to the south enter the country each week, if not each day.

Gee lieberman, why do you hate America so much? Your post shows ZERO respect for American law enforcement. Have an axe to grind?

    Romney courts gun-rights group

Nothing to worry about here folks. Next week, he'll be at an elementary school talking about gun control. This IS Mitt Romney we're talking about here. Never met a side of a subject he didn't like for enough money.

I wonder how much I'd have to pay him to eat a rhino beetle. There's no doubt he'd eat it; it's just a matter of price. I say my vote and a hundred bucks would do it. Mitt's done a lot worse for a lot less.

Foxie hit the nail on the head. Man will never conquer the sea. We may tame it for a time, but we will never conquer it. I've done 35 degree rolls before. It's a hell of a thing. A total of a 70 degree shift from one side of the swell to the other. Sh*t was flying everywhere. People were too busy hanging on to get sea sick. And I was on the USS Germantown at the time, flat bottomed boat. Ugh.

    arrested development,

I mentioned this in another thread but I assumed that you would probably ignore anything that doesn't fit your prepackaged narrative so I thought I best blast it out.

You say that Zimmerman said this:

Zimmerman is saying that Martin approached him from behind and from his left. They exchanged words and Martin began punching him and knocked him to the ground.

You said earlier that the 911 audio said that the what could be described as f*****g c**n was getting away. Then you say he came back.

Now why would someone who was trying to escape come back? I am begging you, please, pretty please with a cherry on top, explain that to me. Please, try to put some sort of logic behind Trayvon Martin escaping and then coming back after getting away. WHY WOULD SOMEONE DO THAT? They wouldn't. Again, pretty please with sugar on top, give me an explanation that would put logic as to why Trayvon would do that. I know it'll be the best laugh I get all week because I haven't been able to catch the Daily Show so you're it. Entertain me arrested development! Please, I beg of you.

lieberman is another one, like sailwind and arrested development who continues to completely miss that there is a dead kid. At least Molenir had the moral courage to be honest and say he didn't care that the kid was dead. It's a deplorable opinion but I still respect that a hell of a lot more than these hypocrites who actually think they have the moral high ground.

lieberman, would you care to comment on the death of 17 year old Trayvon Martin or is that completely out of your scope of reference? Are you going to be like sailwind and start throwing out weather forecasts and Chevy Volt statistics to make your point about media bias?

Lastly, do you realize how totally ridiculous you guys look? WOW! I wouldn't want to be your kids and have a black friend, that's for sure (then again, I can't imagine you someone procreating with you so....). Awkward!

Or do you guys pass the hate on at an early age? I'm completely in the dark on such matters.

    The Truth Matters

The Washington Post is reporting that the DA is going to charge George Zimmerman with a crime and arrest him.

You read it here first. The DA is going to have his reputation run the the mud by the pro-Zimmerman zealots. They are convinced that Trayvon grabbed the gun and shot himself to death, JUST to make George Zimmerman look bad. THAT is the degree of their delusion.

They don't see the dead kid as a victim at all. They see the dead kid as the perpitrator. How do people like that survive in the real world? Do they have service dogs or something? Trained monkeys? Are THEY trained monkeys?

Again, the DA in the Zimmerman case is going to go down as being the most villainous DA in all of America. You can take that to the bank. That is more certain than a pill-popped misogynistic rant from Rush Limbaugh.

You truly dishonor the Martin's family loss of their loved one with this "humor".

NO, you dishonor the Martin family by refusing to look at one side of the story because Martin happens to be black. Sorry, but you've shown that color blindness is not an affliction you are saddled with.

When you can open your eyes and your heart to see both sides of the story, THEN you can take the moral high ground. NOT A MOMENT BEFORE.

"What really bothers me about this case, is not that Zimmerman shot and killed Martin"

WELL YOU DON'T SAY! FINALLY, the truth comes out!

Blessed Jesus thank you for being honest, molenir.

Allow me to paraphrase another Zimmerman, this one happens to be the absolute polar opposite of George Zimmerman:

All of Trayvon's cards were marked in advance The trial was a pig-circus he never had a chance The judge made Trayvon's witnesses drunkards from the slums To the white folks who watched he was a revolutionary bum And to the black folks he was just another dead n*****r No one doubted that George pulled the trigger And though they could not produce the gun The DA said he was the one who did the deed And the all-white jury DISAGREED.

The bottom 50 percent of wage earners in America now pay no taxes.

And you want to talk about "fair"....

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that neither math, nor ethics is your strong suit.

    So, what's more, 25% of $12,000 or 12% of $1 million?

And yes, I do want to talk about fair. If the rich pay no taxes and the poor pay no taxes, it is not fair because the rich are still rich and the poor are still suffering. Now if the rich, worked their way to get there, fine. Not many do. Alot of them require a lot of us to help them gain their wealth and then they don't turn around and help anyone else. We call them douchebags where I'm from.

Basically, you just want to make sure that you have it better than everyone else. It bothers you that the poor are given something and you aren't given the same. You're a conservative. What's in it for me is all you are about. But not everyone is a conservative. Some of us have intelligence and realize that we live in a society (and we can breathe through our noses) and that in a society, people need to work together.
