  You meet some guy in a bar and he sends a friend request. Gets all upset at you if you don't add him in. Wont drink with you at the bar next time. I got sick of all the privacy issues too.

  I know exactly what you mean. How about adding people who just lurk and watch you, then worse, make comments in person about what you post. Then if you block them, they start acting different towards you. FB is almost like a cancer at times.

  These days, I politely decline invitations to weddings.

  I believe most Japanese do this as well.

  I've been to three weddings here (not one of them my own, alas ...) The first one I had to attend the actual ultra-Japanese ceremony with the flutes and everything. It was very strange. The other two were just the eating parts afterwards. Plenty of dumb games, but plenty of free drink. As everyone left they presented gifts to the bridge and groom who were standing on this podium with a gold backdrop. I was corked at the time and in honorific Japanese offered them the centerpiece from one of the tables, which they got a kick out of.

  That isn’t deterring the entertainment industry, which is aware of the problem yet charging ahead with plans to create more movies and TV shows in 3D.

  Personally I wouldn't jump the gun and say "whatever, anyone can run that company". A review of Apple's history will show that that more or less happened before, and the collection of CEOs that took over for him nearly drove Apple into the ground. It was him that rescued the company around 1998 with the iMac, and he has been the driving force behind the company since then.

  Love him or hate him, he has a knack for running things and I'm a little apprehensive about what will happen.

  ... the female police officers in my neighbourhood and surrounding areas are unfortunately not as "hot" as you have described.

  Maybe it depends on the city. Where I live I've seen plenty of cute female police officers :)

  To put it very nicely, flying American Airlines is unpleasant - and I'm not the only person who thinks so.

  As for the commemorative sale thing, the price quickly adds up, and Feb 1st to March 31st - who can travel then?
