    To imgold:

I was shocked to listen to Hoshino's post game comments about the loss to the Americans. Not one positive comment about the team that just beat them.

Actually, Hoshino said, "I'm disappointed that we couldn't win a medal, but we just ran into some very good teams. The…

But didn't the American men just win the 4x400 relay ? So how about a yay for that ? A "boo" for team USA ? Hard lines mate, hard lines !

Please read the headline again. It says: "4x100 relay". As far as I remember, the American men…

If softball and baseball are to be reintroduced to the Olympics in 2016, then it would have to be either Chicago or Tokyo, as they have the venues for those sports already in place, as well as the fan interest.

Good job Argentina! Also, a well-played game from Nigeria. I'm so glad that this was a clean game unlike that awful one I saw in the preliminaries between Belgium and China:

I really hope the Belgium player's groin is alright.

But let's face it, track and field relays are won on three things: speed, technique, and discipline. The U.S. runners may have the speed, and a bit of the technique, but are surely lacking in the discipline. According to USA Track and Field president Doug Logan, "Dropping a baton isn't…

Overall, this win by Japan may be what softball needs to get back into the Olympics. Parity and competition should help bring it back eventually. This year, it helped that the Olympics was held in China, which had the facilities in place and a growing interest in the sport of…

Not to mention 3 other teams failed to finish in the mens race, explains how Japan got through. Really now, nothing to be proud of. Winning on the mistakes and errors of others and not your own efforts.

I bet that you wouldn't say this if the shoe was on…

Congratulations to Japan! It was a great game. They played their hearts out and won. I could see that the U.S. women were a bit too confident and thought they could win again. It was nice to see that at least one American (Bustos) was enjoying receiving the silver medal.…

I should also add that it can't be about money either, since some of the richest countries in the world, like Brunei, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Spain, and Italy, are not meeting their expected medal hauls.

Follow Great Britain. Half the population of Japan (and half the tv sponsorship money) and 12 golds so far with more to come

True, but we can't say that the more populated the nation is, the more medals they should win. If that were true, then India should be winning…
