IMO, too many people mistake acrobatic skill for Martial Arts/fighting skills. Thanks to a steady diet of MA movies over the years most are more athletic/acrobatic than showing the true stuff.
Hence why they are actors.

There was a big discussion on the Net too when the magic mushrooms sales were outlawed shortly after.

Not sure how long you been in japan, but I remember a time when you could buy "Magic Mushhrooms" from street-vendors legally in Shibuya, etc. The guys had their little tables setup and their were packs of Mushhrooms on them amongst the merchandise. Quiet a few of those Vendors were caucasians, etc.
They are outlawed now though.

You would be surprised how many different mafia organisations from X countries operate and compete in Tokyo(not so sure about other areas) but I think the chinese and koreans have their fair share too).
Kabuki-cho in Shinjuku you can see them all.
I personally know 3 guys that are affiliated with the pakistani, turkish and Nigerian groups here.

Looking at his age and given MA creds, he gone far for his age. BB in 2.5yrs. Lost of styles for someone so young.
Said that never heard of him either.

Hey, it worked for some time.
Maybe he should have used a bussines-suit harder to trace/describe, won't stick out among the corporate-drones either.
In one country I lived they had a spate of high-end(BMW, Mercs, etc) car thefts from shopping-centres, cops couldn't figure it out, security never saw anything wrong either.
The Thieves wore business-suits, brief-cases, well-dressed and groomed looking just like your average exec. This allowed them to operate right under security and police noses, who cares about a well-dressed guy doing stuff at an expensive car.
Got to think.

Yes, he was punished. Not sure if you can call placing sneak/illegal shots during bouts immature. ;)

To the people that think he got treated harshly.
He has history of bad behaviour/conduct in Sumo including destroying property, in addition he smoked(admitted by himself) a banned substance on his employers property.
How many employers will just shrug their shoulders and say "have a slap on the wrist".
I also think that the Sumo elders re to be blamed too for not teaching/educating him properly.

I myself got an organic semi-outdoor composter(electric). Lots of the kitchen type ones here are actually shredders that only reduce to 30~40% but are a bit cheaper.
Mine reduces to 10% and I get some lovely compost, very little smell(additive is available to cut smell further). Lives on the roof terrace next to the kitchen door, after meals just collect everything dump it in and it is done. Empty the overflow container once every 2 weeks.
So it is possible to get a good composer here for apartment use. And we think we all should do our own small share. May it be shopping wiser or making more meals using left-overs.
Japan has quiet a few good recipes for left-overs like okonomi-yaki, teppan-yaki, etc.

I would say much of it could be reduced/prevented. Also given the extra food to charities/homeless, etc would help. My Ward pays/reimburses a household up to 50.000Yen towards the purchase of a Composter. But a certain percentage of the food will always be waste.
I remember back home one year we had a bumper crop of Apples, lots were simple thrown away/buried as the farmers couldn't sell them. So some people went to the goverment and said ship them to africa to feed the starving.
Goverment said fine get us some 747 Cargo-jets within 3 days and distribute the apples within another 3~4 days before they are rotten.
Point being even with a lot of excess often it is not feasable to use the food.

I found Tokyo food to be good, very diversified and quiet affordable. And I have traveled the globe quiet a bit and touched many, many countries.
Will I eat a place from the Michelin guide most likely not unless I got a high-end client to entertain, and that I think is their target audience. Not us the average Joe.
As for food-places I found that many of the smaller places serve food more to my liking/tastes may it be chinese, american, indian, mexican, spanish, swedish, brazillian, german, russina, greek, you name it.
I also found that a lot of the places retain their traditional flavour as many are run by immigrants or certified by overseas chefs/countries.
Just looking at Italian food I can get Pizzerias(more like fast food places) or Italian Restaurants(serving lots of meat dishes). As for flavour I can American-Italian(NY or Chicago Style), Japanese-Italian or Italian-Italian(my prefered).
Tapas is also quiet god here and many places specialize in it.
Indian I got a few restaurants close by(chain owned by an indian family), their lunch-specials are well worth it and the food is very tasty and authentic. Plus they also offer Briyani, Roti, Tandoor, Samoosa, etc.
If I want Volume I usually visit restaurants that cater for students, for less than 1000Yen I can get a full course meal(Soup, Salad, Main-dish, coffee, dessert) and in generous portions too.
Yes, many places are hidden and often a bit of a distance from the stations. But finding them is half the fun for me.
One TV-Show I like is shown on Saturdays Evenings at 21:00 on TV-Tokyo. They visit one area per week and give 30 spots of interest per location. One hour show.

To make it clearer the USA has 400mill people the rest of the world is how many Billion?
So worldwide takes should exceed US takes by a factor of X. Right?

Lets take it slowly for you so you can catch up. What country does the article refer to? Japan. What site are you on? Japan Today. Where do many poster here live? Japan. See the pattern forming? Good.
I know all about the HBO shows BUT they are NOT broadcast by HBO in japan. Which you would know if you even were in japan. Same way you would know that those shows are minor here.
Just because a show or movie is big in the USA don't mean it is so worldwide.
Clear enough now?

Now that the Olympic farce is over we can get on to the REAL games.
Talking the Paralympics here, those are the real athletes and many are equal to the guys in the Olympics.
The paralympics usually don't get much media coverage but for me those athletes are better and the games have no politics, etc too.

The pipes the found were not ordinary pipes but specially used for MJ. If you know MJ you would know it can't be used in standard pipes.
Like I said above or in another threat he didn't get kicked just for the MJ but for his overall record.
He was a fast riser that thought he could do as he likes and needed to be cut down, previous measure didn't do it so this was the opportunity for the JSA.
He was a trouble maker from his record.

What people forget.
A soldier has NO choice, he has to do as ordered. Having been in the military myself there is NO choice. Try to question an order or refuse to execute one. Good luck.
There were 5 million non-jews killed that were gays, political activists and soldiers that refused orders in german death-camps. Yes, the number is 11 million not 6 million as is usually published.
During WWII there was no voluntary army as now exists in the USA and other countries.
Once you are in the army you are owned by the goverment and need to do as you are told.
More people and would know that if their countries still practiced national service as my country does. We need to do 8 months as we owe it to the country.
And, IMHO, it is a good practice.
Same reason why I can't fault the soldiers for Iraq, etc only their goverments who ordered them do to what they do. I support the soldiers but that don't mean I support their goverment.
HTH.
