nigelboy- Trying to defend the indefensible is ludicrous, take off your rose coloureed glasses pal.

I agree with HaroldSteptoe, a wealthy country that does not have healthcare accessable to all is a failure, ie Japan, USA.

The net cafes should be monitored by police to see if vunrable , and people at risk need help.

i will be observing the debate closely. As a Brit, it does effect us, as US policy is so important to the world.

just hope things get better, whoever wins.

These are not Asian girsl we are talking about, they are Japanese, get with the programme, this is 21st century.

Japan should be more concerned about solving their economic woes , than some shallow fashion rubbish.

Girls in Japan have been revealing clothes for decades, it aint new JT, believe me.

Japanese girls fashion does not have style at all. They are just like every other rich country, following celebrity style and what magazines tell them. The world has become very shallow.

CavemanLawyer- Your knowledge of Japan and hookers etc are very poor. In Japan it is all hidden in Soap Lands and visiting services. There are more perverts here than any country i have ever been to.

Many Japanese girls look like cheap tarts, maybe some like girls looking lke that, i don't judge them on that point.

I was in the Metropolitan Polive for 18 years, and these type of "people" became more of a problem as my career progressed.

I feek really sorry for thisd kid, and for the officers trying to assist him. It is very traumatic dealing with cases like this, many suffer from PTSD and othe mental problems.

The kids would have been arrested in London for obstruction. I don't think the law has change sinc ei left. The y would only receive a fine or possible community service.

This is a terrible indictment of British society. How can thsese sick indviduals live with themselves?

More and more people will download anything that is free, it is human nature. I and many i know have downloaded films and later bought them because of viewing a download.

People are fed up withrip off movie theaters especially in Japan. In other countries they have concession for seniors. My father can watch latest movies for approx 500 Yen in Britain for Afternoon special viewings for seniors.

I wouldn't trust either of them . It's all down to what their advisors say anyhow. Mr Obama looks very nervous though, i think the job of president may be too much for him to handle.

At least he didn't take a load of innocents to the grave with him.

Probably had too much of a guilty conscience rom his job. Japanese police either are corrupt or deliberatly ignorant of what goes on around them.

A few whistleblowers may help clean up the force.

Amnesty Japan is crap. I tried to get their help for a Japanese minor in care of authorities who was under prefecture care. He was illegaly given adult only meds, put in solitary andplace under 24 hour surveilance, all illegal.

Amnesty Japan would n't even give me a reply, absolute disgrace. I clled Amnesty UK and they were shocke. The Japan office was reprimanded, and apologised and assisted me in a limited way. Amnesy Japan only seem to care about Aino and the death penalty. They seem to concentrate on oversea abusess and blindly ignore Japans problems. A comparison with their Japan site and the British onwe will show Amnesty Japans apathy and uselessness.

Better than an imperial family totally cut off from the world and controlled by old fogeys.

At least The British royals make some attempt at working with regular people, and can go to nightclubs and bars without permission.

It is a symbol of democracy, something Aussies sghould hold onto as a part of their history.

OssanULTRA- The other countries were mentioned as they all do the same, as you agreed. They spend a lot on military, and do not spend enough on food safety, in the 5 richest countries apart from China, Japan is the biggest culprit.

Be carefull where you r food is from in China, equally be carefukll in Japan, tehir standards are also poor.

OssanULTRA; you do not answer my earlier post. The problems i mentioned do not usually occur in developed countries. The mercury incident was infamous worldwide.

Are all African countries under developed. Are the Chinese developed, do they take this issues seriously? China needs to imporoved immensly.

Japan needs to improve a lot, just look up how much Japanese produce is banned from Europe for poor hygiene.

rjd jr- Off topic as usual ,and accusing posters without evidence. Join another forum man, if you don`t like it.

China should ensure taht it complies with developed worlds standards for food safety.

China will only lose business from these scandals, the same way Japan did with he mercury scandal.

I agree with the Republicans. I thought Obama was the best candidate, but now i see he is just petty and childish.

Palin has a good record without deceit, she obvioulsy is a great mum.

Sarge and Moderateguy2008 are the type of Americans us Brits admire, they are suppoerting the honest cnadidate, Palin would make a great and honest president.

The consumer can not do much. I buy lots of Asian foods from China , Thailand and other s. Finjd out if the comnpany exports to US or Europe, if they do, the will usually have higher standards.

KaptainKichigai- I am British, not any type of Gaijin, same as this Marie is Canadian-Japanese, not half gaijin.

If thsi woman is spresading cheer, good luck to her i say. She is doing it in a manner that does not use offensive words which disgust decent people..

I am a foreign worker, what threat am i to Japan? I think you will find in GErmany the people under threat are the immigrants from skinheads.

People must respect other cultures and embrace them, not look at them with perceived fear, spread by a xenaphobic right wing government.

Let's not see history repeating itself, with fear mongering of foreigners, and blaming them for societies problems.

Posted in: One essential thing is to get rid of the tendency to regard foreign workers as cheap, expendable substitutes for a decline in the domestic labor force. Japanese need to socially and culturally reinvent themselves to live with the foreign population.
